Why on earth do you keep walnuts in a fridge?
It's not a terrible idea, the oils can go rancid.

This! Nuts belong in the fridge.
Who leaves nuts around long enough for them to go rancid?

Not all nuts, just oily ones like walnuts.

Shelled nuts belong in the fridge and unshelled ones outside.
Instructions unclear, nuts stuck to ice cream, send help.
Your freezer is way too cold if stuff can get stuck to ice cream.

You have to eat nuts pretty slowly for this to be a problem in my experience. I have had nuts go rancid but they were really old. It's like sauces - they say "keep refrigerated" on the bottle but if you use them consistently it's better not to crowd the fridge/keep space for higher priority things.
Huh, I thought oils went rancid because of oxygen? I didn't think cold slowed that process for oils very much.
Cold slows many chemical reactions, including this one. Nuts will last even longer in the freezer.
Removing them from an oxygen environment will also slow the reaction.

Yes in walnuts, yes. I just tossed a bag not long ago for that reason.
But it takes like a year or so.
Look at this guy, eating a whole bag of walnuts in only a year.
Is this like the reddit thread where you can eat a door in a year?
Keep all the salad stuff together? Or in my case, we have almost no cabinet storage or pantry so all our groceries go in the fridge
Seriously. Should keep them in the freezer instead.
