I think humanity should go extinct anyway and avoiding having children seems to be a peaceful way to do so. The more we breed the more we perpetuate the agony of existence.

Ecofascism, as far as I know, is when you use an extremist authoritarian enforcement of racist beliefs under the pretext of environmentalism, which is not what I claimed. I am not particularly targeting a specific group of people but humanity as a whole and I do not enforce my beliefs unto others at all really. Antinatalism is an existential problem, not a political one.

I wonder if people who say this type of thing ever put their money where their mouth is

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I say this kind of shit and I don't have any kids. Most of the people I know who say shit like this aren't having kids.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk -4 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I am gonna have 9 children in honour of you

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 3 points 2 days ago

Good luck with that.

You do you, every extinctionist is really just thinking about the favor they are doing to their unborn kids and not subjecting them to this shit

It's not really peaceful i'd say. society's infrastructure needs maintainers. The survivors of population decline would witness famines again, important civil structures collapsing, medication shortages, and a variety of other terrible woes. It's not nuclear fallout or anything, but it's not peaceful by any means either.

It's a dark way of looking at it but every problem modern society and the earth is facing could be solved by having the human race drop back about 40-55%

If we go back to about 3 billion people on earth most of the problems would be solved.

[–] RamenJunkie@midwest.social 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yes but also no.

We have the means to support everyome, but we also have a small minority assholes who are OBSESSED with making spreadsheet numbers go up so we can't because profits are all that matter.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 1 points 2 days ago

If we dropped the population, it'll be the bottom that would be targeted first.

Nah. The greed of the .01% is infinite.

Those problems all existed when we were a few million people.

The ancient civilizations are full of people bitching about how miserable life is and how if we only all followed God(s) all our issues would be magically solved. Sound familiar?

Like what problems?
