In civilized countries The Flock Camera network is CLEARLY illegal.
My recommendation to USA is to strive to become a civilized country, before caring so much about every single detail that arise from not being a civilized country.
Americans are constantly focusing on the symptoms but never on the disease that cause them. Maybe because Americans are brainwashed to think the insanity going on in USA is normal.

There’s a lot of money controlling media propaganda, which brainwashes people. Or people are otherwise powerless. You could probably say the same about Russians in Putin’s Russia. Or Chinese under the CCP.

Brainwash nothing, you have to be a ponderously ignorant person and inherently mean enough to fall for the brainwashing. That excuse maybe flies the first term, at this point they're genuinely indisputably bad people. They have agency. They choose this seeing everything you and I see. Fuck em all, if they all died overnight it would solve the majority of the earth's problems.

Yes, the difference is that most people are aware it's happening in Authoritarian countries like Russia and China, but forget that it's also happening in USA.

How is a paragraph consisting entirely of platitudes a solution?

“Americans are being spied on by their government and powerful transnational corporations despite the fact that they voted to show their disapproval.”

“Yes, well. Have you tried being civilized? 🧐”

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world -2 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (2 children)

No really, Americans are not even trying to build a better civilization, they are doing the opposite.
Building and improving civilization is a very well defined goal, of respecting human rights, respecting minorities and building a well functioning democracy and society.
Americans are doing none of that.

Your failure to understand this, and failure to identify the problems and possible solutions is part of the problem.
The flock camera is not the problem but a symptom, and the problem is forgotten when the symptom is debated.
Americans claim individuality and personal freedom, but few developed countries have such disregard and lack of protection for the individual USA has.
Instead USA has freedom for the cooperations and agencies to fuck individuals over as they like.

Edit:
Funny how this is downvoted, despite it's obviously true, the American society has clearly degraded for the past 9 years.
And a couple of decades before that it wasn't progressing as a civilized society like other developed countries either.

Doubling down on the pretense was certainly a choice.

Guess what, little bro? We know. Some of us are out there actually fighting this battle.

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world -3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

"Some of you" are not Americans in general, as in the majority.
I also wonder why you feel personally attacked if you are not in the group I described?

[–] criscodisco@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Me: “You’re being annoying and pretentious.”

You: “Sounds like someone feels personally attacked!”

We done?

[–] Buffalox@lemmy.world -3 points 4 days ago

Me: Making a point.

You: Whuaah Whuaah

Now we're done.

Yeah I'm a US American, our culture is hot garbage. We're inconsiderate, entitled, proudly ignorant, revel in violence, and hate poor people and minorities. I've lived all over the country. I've had good neighbors, but every neighborhood I've lived in has been exactly as I describe. Anyone that thinks I'm wildly off base here probably fits very neatly into the above categories.

I'm American too, and yeah, even most (nominally) leftwing Americans are in denial about how shitty American culture is. They still have the the american civil religion in their head.
