That would be great! As an analog, I posted the pre-syndication Garfield strips in !garfield@lemmy.world a while back, people seemed to like it. I think communities like this are generally a good fit for "the work, or the author's other work, if it doesn't have a community itself".
By the by, Charlie Brown is sort-of in the public domain. The Li'l Folks strips were published without a copyright notice in an era where that was required to be considered under copyright. He's featured in there and says his name, though anything starting with the first syndicated strip is still copyrighted. His name is also trademarked so you can freely use it in creative works, but can't advertise with it or something. I'm not a lawyer so take that with a grain of salt, but here's more info:
