Can you explain how being "active in the community" will lead to reform in our broken healthcare system?
My life was destroyed by medical bankruptcy. That was 15 years ago, and I have not financially recovered. How can we save others from suffering this same fate?
Luigi was one person, and he did more to change the system than every community group. He sacrificed himself to save lives. We need more heroes like Luigi.
My local DSA is actually really active in raising money to pay off people's medical debt. It's not comprehensive reform, but it's something.
Not a whole lot. I'm not saying I'm going to fix the healthcare system for the US. I'm more wondering what more OP is doing than the person in the meme saying "go vote" because I think it's a little silly to complain about other people while doing less yourself.
As for my community, tbh we just collaborate and help each other. Watch kids, take care of grandma, help out in the yard. Little stuff. We also pool money but that pool is pretty dry since one of our community was diagnosed with skin cancer. But when I asked what more I could be doing or what others were doing I was also looking for suggestions and it feels like I was suggested giving up my life and committing murder. Which would be fine but I don't think that's what the fella who posted the picture is up to. I'm kind of saying "hey do something yourself before you ask others to do more" and then got a suggestion to kill CEO's from someone who definitely isn't killing CEO's.
On a side note there are tons of people who want more people to follow in Luigi's footsteps and will even push people to do so but are just sitting on their hands themselves because they can't stomach the consequences. Don't want to ruin their own lives but they don't mind someone else taking the bullet. So to speak.
