Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

A stroke. Leave him in a semi-vegetative state but keep his mind as aware as possible. I want him to live a long life after that, in the worst possible misery: that of being a prisoner of your own body. I want him aware when the world celebrates that he's become a bedridden monster that nobody wants near and everyone fights to keep away because he's not relevant anymore.

What about ALS? Hard to believe that I'd wish that nightmare of a disease on someone, yet here we are...

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago

having seen it firsthand, no.

"Your ears you keep, so that every shriek of every child shall be yours to cherish—every babe that weeps in fear at your approach, every woman that cries 'Dear God, what is that thing?' will reverberate forever with your perfect ears."

This is delicious. What is this from?

God that would turn me on so much. Him in a vegetative state where he was still watch TV and see just how much the world celebrates his decline. Watching as people crowd the streets cheering, dancing, chanting and shouting in celebration and he just gets to lay there and watch. Even Fox News is broadcasting it, calling it a disgusting act by the left but he still has to lay there and watch it unfold.

Turn you on? You might need the bed next to him in the hospital.

[–] ragepaw@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I wish locked-in syndrome for him

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 1 points 18 hours ago

You guys mistake, he isn't tortured by his thoughts or his memories. He loves himself. I bet he'd love to be locked within himself.

[–] Xaphanos@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That leaves room for pity. Not optimal.

[–] ragepaw@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fuck that.

Locked in with only a TV to keep him company with Kimmel and Colbert on a loop.

[–] TwodogsFighting@lemdro.id 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Nothing but Obama interviews.

Nothing but crowds cheering for Obama and AOC, Biden, ... all the people he despises. Standing ovations even!

[–] i_stole_ur_taco@lemmy.ca 15 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

All he can do is lay there and watch tv. The kind nurse turns on MS.NOW so he can watch it all day. Every day.

[–] radiofreebc@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Reruns of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert would be epic.

We could crowd fund a new show for him where he laughs at him with his guests, everyone talking about how much better Obama was as a president.

"Look at me Hector!"

[–] A_Random_Idiot@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

probably the only prison he has a likelihood of ever seeing.

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Thing is he has a higher chance of dying immediately after the stroke than someone who's healthier than him. Or should I say, he has a lower chance of surviving and becoming said vegetable.

With that said, I hope whatever happens to him is made public to a humiliating degree, is something that slowly and painfully kills him so he has to live with agony that doesn't even come close to the agony he's inflicted on others, and that he is conscious enough to know he can't do a damn thing about it.
