Rules:
- The mods are fallible; if you've been banned or had a post/comment removed, please appeal.
- Off-topic posts will be removed. If you don't know what "Leopards ate my Face" is, try reading this post.
- If the reason your post meets Rule 1 isn't in the source, you must add a source in the post body (not the comments) to explain this. If the reason is in the source but is tedious to find (e.g. in a lengthy video), you must add an explanation for where it is.
- Posts should use high-quality sources (for a rough idea, check out this list), and posts should retain the title (if one exists) from works like news articles, videos, etc. You may (but need not) edit your post if the source changes the title. Other types of posts should have a title which accurately, relatively neutrally describes their contents.
- For accessibility reasons, an image of text must either have alt text or a transcription in the post body.
- Reposts within 1 year or the Top 100 of all time are subject to removal. Within moderator discretion, this doesn't just include reposts of the exact same media but also includes e.g. a secondary source telling basically the exact same story as another that was already posted.
- This is not exclusively a US politics community. You're encouraged to post stories about anyone from any place in the world at any point in history as long as you meet the other rules.

In a few months, these people will have always been against Trump, and they'll hate us when we call them on it, because despite everything they've done so far, they still think they're better off than with a Democrat in charge.
Tucker Carlson doesn't disagree with anything Trump has done, he's just smart enough to tell when to jump ship. This is a strategic move
Eh, we have leaked emails from Fox news where Tucker did say he hated Trump and thought he was an idiot during the first admin, not that it stopped him from gargling his balls.
Yeah exactly, because Trump lacks any strategy. Just look how little manufacturing consent went into the Iran war compared to the Iraq war. Trump is so idiotic he says the quiet part out loud because He's too stupid to understand the point of dog whistles. Carlson wants a competent White Nationalist administration, his issue is with the incompetency.
But even so, whenever in public view, Carlson is very very deliberate and strategic with how he communicates white nationalism sentiments to his audience. He knows exactly the right way to broach topics, which words to hit, ect, in order to get the audience (be it MAGA or Liberals) on his side.
"I would have voted for Jim Webb" is a thing I've heard conservative asshats tell me on a regular basis.
No raindrop thinks they're to blame for the flood.
No raindrop is. The flood is a consequence of the land's ability to drain water relative to the size of the deluge. Blaming individual raindrops is foolish.
I too am very intelligent.
My bad for posting a metaphor on Lemmy. Are you doing a bit right now, like autism blackface or something? Did the Big Bang Theory send you?
Perhaps you have the autism. The way you overanalyze everything.
Nah I'm pretty sure I'm just a lifelong social misfit who only befriends the neurodivergent and can't handle repetitive noises, same as any regular guy really.
Maybe he's doing a metaphor too? I keep trying to piece it together: "so like the landscape, yeah, is like america, right? No wait, is it democracy? Hmm... Is this guy just talking about actual stormwater mitigation?"
It honestly is funny to me either way, because it reads like he's being straight faced talking a out stormwater mitigation.
But I do think it's intended to point out a lot of the morons that voted for trump did so for some real reasons, very misguided (and intentionally so by the right wing news apparatus) but real reasons.
Saw a clip earlier that was coincidentally perfectly topical here: https://imgur.com/gallery/they-knew-they-all-knew-0HTmIvw
I'll take it. Admitting a mistake is the first step in healing.
The first step in healing is recognizing you even have a wound i guess, but next is cleaning out the wound. Americans have typically just skipped this step in the past and gone straight to believing that recognition was the healing.
