we really need a law around this. biometric records like fingerprinting only occured at arrest but we need to have something to eliminate all biometrics unless you are in due process or have a conviction. If they can't convict then it should be thrown out and any unwilling biometrics should not be allowed to be collected outside of due process. Voluntary biometrics should be guarded like mail or other things. It can be used for identification for governement related processes like getting benefits or paying taxes but not just queried for investigations.
Trump DOJ: "No, that's unconstitutional"
SCOTUS: "Looks unconstitutional to us."
5th Circuit: "Actually, its illegal for you not to have biometrics on file"
Local Officer: looking up from a crowd of police kicking a guy in the ribs "You hear someone say something?"
