Actually yes, because this allows him to regroup, move slow moving carrier groups into position and secure oil supplies/put measures in place to keep at least Red Sea/Suez open when he continues it. Possibly also see who at CENTCOM has been reluctant to carry out war crimes, and do some more replacements there.
I can’t believe how people are falling for it, every time he pumps and dumps. This isn’t going to stop. It will only get worse. China has more to gain from all of this than Russia.
china still gets an oil squeeze, where russia doesnt. They are also allies so its not that bad for either of them. But certainly it isn't any type of 'victory' for the USA. They're pretty much losing on all fronts.
China would have gotten an oil squeeze IF they hadn't worked out a deal with Iran to let Chinese oil tankers pass through the strait.
