I currently have a HomePod mini on every floor that lets me use them as a PA system across the house. Works pretty sweet when I have to call the family for dinner time.
That’s great, but it doesn’t sound like a very common use case. I find most of the uses for homepods (like listening to music, or asking Siri questions) are already performed by the Apple Watch, the iPhone and the AppleTV.
Very fair. I sometimes get frustrated when a HomePod picks up my questions that I meant for my watch to answer. My other favourite use case is having music stream across the house if I’m home alone, or playing background music if we’re hosting friends.
I call my family to dinner with “hey Siri, tell family dinner time” on my phone. All the phones and computers in the house light up with a notification, which is always enough to get people moving.
