Has been an issue for me since iOS 18 enabled RCS - I don’t have RCS available when connected to WiFi.

I’ve tried:

  • Multiple APs
  • Removing and Reinstalling ESIM
  • Enabling IPV6 on my router
  • Disabling pi-hole and Firewalls

No matter what no RCS. Works fine when connected to cellular data.

Happened on both my 15 pro and new 16 pro. US Carrier is Verizon but also seeing similar behavior on other phones connected to ATT.

Anyone figured out a way to fix this? Is it just a beta (and also 18.0 GA) issue?

I read about a really annoying dimming issue, not sure if that’s affecting everyone though. Is it stable enough, how’s battery life?

Thanks :)

To enroll, go to Software Update and tap the prompt at the bottom.

Device region needs to be set to US, language to US English, Siri also needs to be set to US. I was able to join the wait list from Canada after changing all those settings.

This has been posted all over the place but if you haven’t seen it, this is a huge change.

To get it working, you need all your Apple TVs on iOS 18 DB1. Remove all your HomePods from your home if you have them. Then, you should see the option to turn off “Automatic Selection”. Turn it off and pick the Home Hub you want.

You can then readd your HomePods to your home. This process sounds painful but it’s actually pretty quick, HomePods remove, reset and readd to your Home fairly quickly. This whole process probably only took about 10 mins.

I’m not really sure why this doesn’t appear to have a settings toggle, but every time an image is sent in iMessage, some location is sent, whether it’s yours or location data from the image itself.

I’m assuming it’s the original location of the photo taken, but I’m not sure. I tested it by sending an image to myself (which was surprisingly difficult in iOS 17), and there was no data attached, but it was an image downloaded from Imgur.

Most likely the security fix that was issued recently for 16, which explains the small size.

So far, the only fix I’ve noticed has been the accessibility option to use personal voice (the keyboard initially covered the prompt, now it’s back to normal).
