I'm off all social media (over 10 years) off reddit for 6+months (banned), closed LinkedIn (2-3mo ago and sick of the data siphoning) closed Imgur about 4-5 months ago (just because). It- honest to God, is SO freeing!

I'm only on my phone for work calls, maybe a few email (use rotating addresses to cut spam), and a game or two from F-Droid if I have spare time. Otherwise it's just a few Lemmy pages about privacy, security, or self-hosted... My 4+ year old phone battery still lasts about 1.5-2 days with mostly WiFi and BT, some GPS and data. It's nice it lasts so long.

Most other free time is family or maybe hobby stuff.

Executives across retail, restaurants and packaged goods are increasingly worried about US shoppers with tighter budgets amid surging gas prices caused by the conflict in the Middle East.

“They’re literally running out of money at the end of the month,” Kraft Heinz Co. Chief Executive Officer Steve Cahillane said in an interview this week. “We’re seeing negative cash flows in the lower-income brackets where they’re dipping into savings.”

DIPPING INTO SAVINGS???! WTF are they smoking?! I don't know many people with a cushion of savings let alone a comfortable one; especially lately since our pay has stagnated, job market's trash, and EVERYTHING has risen in price! Who's got the ability to even attempt to save?!

Wrong, in 2000 it was thongs with low-rise jeans.

cries in premium

And the Midwest likes to fuck people with $1-$1.10 jump for premium.

You will own nothing--because you can't afford it, and be happy

Privacy badger is from EFF so I'll trust them to block cookies and hidden trackers. I'm sure it's accomplishing the same thing. Ublock has made a good name for itself though too, no doubt.

Right, my thought exactly. How ironic though, right? It's contradictory IMO, and maybe legally they have to have something existing and that's why is buried several links down? Idk.

While clicking around a website's privacy policy, I found an option "if you don't want us or Google to use analytics, click here" more or less.

It's Google own opt out extension, https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Is it that simple to block sites use of Google analytics? I mean, otherwise, are Privacy Badger or Port Authority doing the same thing, just not Google's tool? Is Google's a honeypot or Trojan horse you think?

Yes, just like political and racial divide, it's all a distraction from class warfare happening.

Ethics? Values? What_are_thooose.gif

Sorry. I, like many of you, are petty sick of the BS politics and not enough action being taken. Not enough because both sides are bought out and influenced by duty industry, pharma, and big tech. I feel for a party, it's a great place for independents who aren't tied or married to a political affiliation, and gives us a better voice or strength in numbers.

We need change, we need to move on-no, move forward with change to get it going. Calling on anyone to check out their home page (found in my link) to at least see what they're about. I've volunteered, myself, after finding them a couple weeks ago, and I feel like they've got the most potential!

Plus, a shameless plug to my new site/blog, whatever you wanna call it. If not allowed, please remove.

Thanks
