I would say I’ve seen more news about Denmark-Greenland relations in the last say month than I have my entire life. Feels like they’re busy at work in the realm of swaying public opinion.

“Don’t be fooled by those radicals, they may seem convincing but they’re actually just out for blood”

I think this is the entire underlying propoganda in Batman villains and that only the rich good guy by choice can save us!

This. It may not cost them their children or loved ones but it can cost someone else’s theirs. It’s socially irresponsible and reckless. Unfortunately, unless it’s suddenly them whose effected directly they won’t care. The whole “it’ll never happen to me” but if it does, then they’ll come out crying and a pleading on tv. I wish people could just consider others wellbeing for more than two seconds. Yes, your personal independence is important but you don’t live in a vacuum! You’re a social animal and that comes with responsibilities.

I hear it differently. I’ve heard it as, “keep doing this thing that’s bad for you, just make sure it doesn’t inconvenience me or I’ll start judging you.”

Also, “it’s not a problem so long as it’s making me money, so don’t quit completely, but rather stay alive long enough to keep dumping cash into it.”

Anyone who’s ever tried to get serious help has been met with the “well just consume in moderation” argument and the “it’s a disease” excuses. We have agency, we can rewire neural pathways, and we don’t have to consume things that are killing us in “socially acceptable” measurements. It’s not an easy road but telling people “eww you can’t just limit yourself? you’re clearly broken beyond repair” doesn’t help people heal. Edit: fixed typo

Good for her. People need to stop making their job so easy for them. Put up a fight.

I was an only child. Isolated. Moved a lot. I daydreamed constantly from the age of about 11 to adulthood. Elaborate long running daydreams. Full on world building with multiple characters and plot lines that carried over from day to day. And yes, dialogue was part of it.

You’re not ill, you’re coping with stress and this is a lot healthier way to do so than many. You’re turning inward because outward is difficult right now.

But to add to your coping mechanism, I recommend taking up writing as a hobby. Build yourself some worlds on paper. Creative writing can ease a lot of boredom and be a great outlet for that creative imagination and to alleviate stress. Write some stories. They don’t have to be any good. But throw some of that mental load onto paper, it’ll help. Poetry can be fun too but I found world building and writing stories the best.

It gives some structure and could potentially get people off your back. You’re plotting your stories not muttering madness. You just have lots of ideas and creativity brewing! You’ll be alright.

Makes my blood boil. Am I shocked? No. But I’m still very angry. Just yet another reason to boycott.

Well, I wasn’t planning on leaving my house that day but if you insist.

No I shall not answer your riddle. Here is a bribe— I mean, magical ball of thread instead...

Contempt of Court charges for defying a judge’s order if I’m understanding correctly.

While that’s a good example it’s an exception not the rule. Imperialism vs the racist genocidal settler colonialism witnessed by European global expansion isn’t quite mom-and-pops old style imperialist or empire-style expansionism.

You can argue while some newer players like WWII Japan and modern-day Israel may not be as Eurocentric, that doesn’t change its birthplace.

Also, when you mention modern slavery and indigenous genocide people don’t go, “oh right! Japan!! The Ottomans or the Ming Dynasty!” They immediately think of Native American or Aboriginal genocide and multigenerational slavery based on race and industrialized into a global economy; one still hellbent on erasure of local culture and homogenization of “values” globally.

In fact, if neo-colonialism has its way the only place for unique human expression will be looking down upon it from behind museum glass as a memory of a different “time”. Cultural uniformity makes stable profitable consumer markets (or so the theory goes). You’re not wrong but I wouldn’t be so quick to say “hey, but look, they do it too!
