This is a bit warfare focused for general aviation but I think helicopters are only going to become more essential to counter drones at the same time as cheap disposable drones are quickly becomimg essential for getting the most value out of the use of a large, expensive, heavy, manned platforms like helicopters especially in uncertain and improvisational situations.

A helicopter is the best tool to play "goalie" around the regions of critical infrastructure and population centers and it is the best tool to clear an airspace, confirm rescue is safe and do the initial evacuation.

All kinds of rescue situations with helicopters whether on rough terrain or over water are aided by the ability to chuck an fpv out of them and get a closer look at the situation/establish contact.

For firefighting tankers fixed wing aircraft it is reasonable that a drone pilot in the firefighting aircraft could fly a tanker route with a drone and help inform the pilot for when they commit to their retardant drop.

I don't understand why Bill Gates still feels the need to do marketing work, he is already rich he doesn't need to do commercials and blatantingly shill for a product for money like this.
