The writer believes that such an idea is quite stupid. In fact, the writer believes that the audience will find this language extremely obtuse. These methods will only cause more pain to the federal employees in question.

Black people used "woke" to mean "aware of the injustices facing black people", "awake" to them, if you will. People later extended that word to injustices facing minorities in general, whether by race, gender, etc.

Trumpists hate minorities, and as such, believe that being woke is being delusional. Hence why they see it as bad.
