Something can certainly be better than nothing, but the bias of the bias checker definitely skews right. It muddies the water, and serves counter to its stated purpose.

Thank you! Electric Forest was an absolutely amazing first date. We fell in love and I proposed a year later at the same festival. We now have a beautiful family :)

I sat back to back with this cute girl at a music festival (first date) strategically placed in the center of several gongs. The artists began gently rolling the gongs in succession in the middle of this electric forest and then they worked together to create rhythms and move them around us.

It is one my favorite memories of my wife :)

I can whole heartedly state that COD is garbage. It’s been enshittified into the ground for years, and recent additions are overwhelmingly negative on steam. COD hasn’t been good for at least a decade, if not more. It’s not what it was in its prime, at all.

I’m a bit amused to have come up with a new Trump insult after so many years. Run with it!

I’m not supporting anyone I use whatever platform I like

Newsflash: using a platform increases engagement.

What you do is, indeed, up to you. But don’t pretend continuing to use Reddit or birdsite or whatever doesn’t benefit them and proliferate the exact thing you are seeking an alternative for.

You ask if I’m here for entertainment? Yep. Because I don’t value entertainment over supporting someone like Spez and Google AI.

This is the conundrum for users of Reddit or X. There’s so much content in the mega-sites that ya’ll feel it’s worth supporting some of the worst people who own the worst companies.

“But I can’t find this entertainment elsewhere!” only goes so far when engagement means helping line the pockets of our abusers.

A meme of a person in torn business suit woth children around a campfire, an apocalypse in the background. the man is saying "Yes, the planet got desteoyed. But for a beautiful moment in time we enjoyed niche communities on fascist platforms."

I was kinda proud of this one. I called him halfwit Hitler one day and realized I could just smoosh em together

What more could you expect from Halfwitler™

I respect their right to speak their mind. However, I believe there are other efforts currently where we can make a much bigger impact.

There are some huge issues on the table: fascist takeover, at least two genocides in different parts of the world we are involved with, systemic racism, LBGTQ rights, and many more.

We could get hung up on any one, and be correct in protesting that what we’re doing isn’t enough, to the only party even likely to entertain it.

But we won’t even have the option to protest if fascism successfully subverts democracy. Those protests only work if Trump doesn’t win. Project 2025 will not condone dissent.

I feel strongly about each of these issues, and agree with the protestors, but I feel that I am best served helping people register to vote/check registration status, supporting down-ballot dems, speaking against any Mom’s For Hate speakers in our PTA meetings, etc.

My main goal is to work to ensure that we have the ability to protest those important topics in a Post-Trump democracy, where the public has more bandwidth to energize. None of what we will happen if Trump cheats his way to the Oval Office again.
