Not as much just a community, but I'm about ready to fully open up the keyboardvagabond.com fediverse services for nomads and travelers. I contracted another nomad to create a mascot character for it, which I'm quite excited about. For the last several months, I've mostly been letting things soak and solving issues, doing upgrades, etc. Feel free to take a look though!

this is new for me. I'm not sure if it's propaganda or an ad 🤣

what a day for this poor guy

while reading this, I almost said, "wow, what a dick," before thinking that he might appear and start wagging it around, like bloody Mary, but worse.

it's amazing how far wealth can get you in life

that's quite a long compose file.

the way that I use cloud flare is with tunnels since my ISP blocks my ports. I have cloudflared running that connects to the cloudflare tunnel, which has a map of domain name to a service name, which is how services are accessed externally.

tailscale connects to tail scales main service and that's how I access internal systems. at least that's how I'm running it.

I went to an interview for a company in the west coast and I was in central time. the recruiter told me that they had core hours and I'd have some flexibility. one of the first questions was whether I was willing to work Pacific time, which I wasn't, especially since it wasn't the best paying job in the world. That interview lasted about 30 seconds.

tailscale is a vpn. you don't need cloudflare for it. you do need to set up the tail scale container with your credentials from tail scale, which they have guides for. after that, log in on your machine and click the connect toggle and you're in.

the exit node is if you want to look like you're at your host computer.

The thing with therapists is that you need to find one that works for you, but that also takes experience.

But I think that if you avoid Christian counselors, you'll more likey avoid that. My experience with Christian ones is that they tend to be more on the side of making you look the part rather than being your true self, since you know, your true self is despicable in the eyes of God and all.

I think it you can afford it, going over these things with a professional can help you work through things or help you identify how that's affected you in ways you may not have thought.

and remember, you can always change therapists (just avoid changing because they challenge you)

5 square kilometers. dayum. (I think that's big. it sounds big.)

During the tests, the 5,000 square-metre kite - about the size of 11 standard NBA basketball courts

Finally, we're not using American football fields

However, not all of the charts seem to be getting updated.

I’m running my own harbor registry for maintaining my own images for www.keyboardvagabond.com and I was working on finishing up this longhorn excessive api call issue when I saw that harbor stopped working.

Essentially, the gist is that they moved certain image references to the bitnamilegacy repository instead of bitnami, but the harbor helm chart didn’t get the updates, so the images failed to pull because they “disappeared” and updating the the latest helm version didn’t solve it.

Essentially, for now what I had to do was go to the default values modal and search for “repository” and make sure that I had an entry under earch part for image.repository where the value was bitnamilegacy/.

This took me a while to figure out and I hope this helps someone!

I missed Gale until the end of Act 2I totally missed Gale in act 1 and didn't get him until near the end of act 2. he was very hungry for magic items so I fed him. I finished off act 2 and then he left, saying his condition is worse. I never ran into Elminster because I guess I didn't have Gale in the party, he he leaves immediately when I leave camp. oh well.... I'm a bit sad about it, I literally had time to level him up, get him equiped, and then he left.

I’m experimenting with where I want to host tech blogs, but I put this short one on Write Freely

https://blog.keyboardvagabond.com/michael-dileos-software-and-tech-blog/longhorns-backup-cost-savings-or-not-getting-surprise-bills

tl;dr - my S3 storage costs were at $26/month more than I expected due to Longhorn (storage volume management for kubernetes) making over 5M s3_list_objects calls. Turning off that polling should fix it.

edit - the polling flag didn't fix it. I updated the blog with a new approach from a github issue that blocks network access outside of backup hours.
