Estados Unidos, tocado y hundido. En el punto de mira.

Tu verdad es la peor mentira, tu libertad la peor de las mentiras, tu verdad es la peor mentira, donde el orgullo termina.

En el punto de mira, en el punto de mira, en el punto de mira, donde el orgullo termina.

English translation

The infinite justice, enduring freedom, is the murderous yoke of the stars and stripes.

In the crosshairs, in the crosshairs, in the crosshairs, where pride ends.

Look, learn, and get a taste of your own medicine, even if it’s just once in your life, you’re used to watching others die but never death on your own turf.

You haven’t seen the ruins at the heart of your empire, you’ve always been one to arrive and hit the jackpot, if it worked outside, why wouldn’t it work inside? the hunter becomes the hunted, the hunter becomes the hunted.

And you can appeal to victimism and resort to that paranoid patriotism, Fighting evil isn’t exactly your strong suit, but no, not this time—this time it’s been you.

The victim of the attitude you've always had, it's only natural that if you strike, one day they might strike back, strike, strike, strike right where it hurts the most, strike, strike, strike right where it hurts the most,

In the crosshairs, in the crosshairs, in the crosshairs, where pride ends.

The United States, battered and defeated. In the crosshairs.

Your truth is the worst lie, your freedom the worst of lies, your truth is the worst lie, where pride ends.

In the crosshairs, in the crosshairs, in the crosshairs, where pride ends.

It's also very annoying for non-native speakers who want to listen to the original audio and have the subtitles as help when they don't understand something:

  • what was that one word I didn't get?
  • subtitles: completely different sentence (with the same meaning, OK, but different words)

If you search for OpenWRT tutorials on youtube you will find a McFly or something like that name

Could that be OneMarcFifty?

Thanks for your answer. I wasn't sure what "you have cable" exactly meant, but after seeing BrightCandle's comment I looked at my ISP contract and it mentions VDSL 50, so I guess I don't need a separate modem then.

Thanks for your answer! I wasn't sure about the whole "Cable / FTTH / DSL" issue, but checked my ISP contract and it mentions VDSL 50, so I guess I'm on DSL and don't need a separate modem. I'm in Europe, by the way (might be relevant to different technologies and devices available), I'll update the post now to add that.

Edit: forgot to mention that I'm based in Europe, which might be relevant for which devices are easily available.

Hi, I am a newbie looking for a new router, one where I can block ads and tracking (with AdGuard, PiHole or something similar), I can choose my own DNS, and hopefully tinker more once I learn more about routers and networks. I have a home server currently running only locally and would like to access it from outside my home, but I'm afraid of letting the door open to bots, hackers, etc.
I am currently using the router provided by my ISP, which has poor customization options and is also failing a lot lately (it loses internet connection at least once a week and needs restarting).

I have searched a bit around and I think something where I can install OpenWRT or other open source firmware would be good. On the OpenWRT forum I have seen recommended the GL·INet Flint 2 GL-MT6000 https://openwrt.org/toh/gl.inet/gl-mt6000. I also looked a bit more on GL·INet's website and saw the GL·INet 3e (GL-BE6500) which has WiFi 7, and wondered if that could be a good upgrade, but seems it doesn't support (yet) installing official OpenWRT.

As for me and my use case: I am comfortable with the Linux command line, my personal computer runs Linux and I have a home server running OpenMediaVault with a couple of services on Docker (Jellyfin, Navidrome, Radicale, Trilium, Calibre-Web, Wanderer), but I barely know anything about routers and networks. The router will serve to connect that server via Ethernet and use several devices (laptops, desktop PC, phones, tablets, AndroidTV...) via WiFi.

I wonder what the thoughts of people who know about routers and networks are.

  • Are these good options for a first non-ISP router?
  • Is the 3e (GL-BE6500) worth the update for WiFi 7 or is it overkill for my use-case? Maybe even a bad idea if it doesn't support the official OpenWRT?
  • Anything else I missed and should take into account?

In addition to the physical router recommendation, I have 2 more questions:

  • from what I have read in other threads I believe I might need to keep my ISP's router, or get another device to use as a modem before the router (I don't know how to do that). Is that correct or can I just replace my ISP's router with a router running OpenWRT (or similar) and be set?

  • does anyone have any good resources to learn more about networks, modems, routers, etc.? for a newbie who is comfortable with the Linux command line but otherwise knows nothing about the topic.

It can also run LineageOS, iodéOS and /e/ OS at least, so there are a few options for a degoogled OS with this phone.

The sad things is that has worked for it* in the past, so of course it* will keep on using that strategy.

* I use the pronoun it because I believe in using the correct pronouns for everyone and refuse to address that piece of shit as a human being

Brilliant! It's just a pity the credits ended before getting to the "No future" part, given that this was meant to celebrate the UK's departure from the EU.

Brass Against is a rock+brass band that started doing covers of Rage Against The Machine, they also cover other rock and metal acts. Pretty cool.

I would say that being part of the solution is not using their service at all.

Honest question: do people really think that attacking a third world country, thousands of kilometres away from your home, that hasn't attacked you, is "serving their country"?

We're not talking about defending yourself from an invading attack, but going far away to invade a foreign country.

Hi everyone,

I am looking to upgrade my current home server: a Raspberry Pi 4B (4GB) for something more capable, but still with low power consumption. Nothing overkill. My current setup on the Raspberry Pi 4 is based on OpenMediaVault, and I run Jellyfin, Navidrome, Radicale, Trilium and Syncthing as Docker containers. This has two HDDs connected: a 6TB almost full with movies and series, and a 4TB with around 1 TB of music and the data from Docker. It works mostly OK, but Jellyfin eats the RAM quite easily (the library is not that small) and I need to restart it or it will eventually crash the whole thing.

I have seen here and in similar forums people using and recommending miniPCs with an intel N100 processor, often purchased on AliExpress. I have never used AliExpress and don't have a deep knowledge of processors, power consumption, etc. So my main questions are:

  • is a miniPC with an N100 processor still a good option these days for an amateur like me (enough power, low energy consumption)?
  • is AliExpress a reliable place to buy a computer for this purpose (shipping to EU)?

I already looked around in AliExpress and found some options, from brands like Bmax, MLLSE, GMKTec, FIREBAT... first time I heard of any of them. From what I have seen there my preference would be:

  • GMKTec G3 Mini PC, which seems to have the option to upgrade the RAM (this is not fully clear from what I see on AliExpress) and also has the option to add a second SSD drive. It has 4 USB3 ports so I can add more HDDS in the future in addition to the 2 I currently use. It comes in 2 variants: 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD drive for 112.39€ / 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD drive for 133.39€.

or the

  • Bmax B4 Plus. This one seems to not have the ability to upgrade the RAM, but it claims to have a 2.5 inch hard drive slot, so I could add an HDD to it. It comes with 2 USB3 ports and 2 USB2 ports, plus a USB-C port. With 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD drive, it has a price of 132.02€.

Does anyone have any of these miniPCs and can confirm if the RAM/SSD are upgradable? Would you recommend them or something completely different?
