Wow, looks like the facebook tactics are creeping in. Fb started notifying users to pull them back on the platform with "x person commented on y person's post (that you've never interacted with)", and half the time those notifications didn't link to the post, and you couldn't turn them off. I'm not sure how that brings people back at all.

If that was a catalyst for many others to do the same instead of an isolated incident, we wouldn't have called it an assassination. We would have called it a revolution. In the kind of time and society we find ourselves in, this is the closest we'll ever get to a revolution. And I say, viva la revolución!

I had been thinking about moving to dbzero for a while. Might see if I can move my data tomorrow!

They're either willfully ignorant or blatantly lying if they think AI wasn't heavily used. There were so many Kamala deepfakes, including those really weird pornographic ones that conservatives were passing around, no doubt very insecure in their sexuality and hoping to find that in others as well.

I still fondly remember how Spellbreak just dropped the tools to run dedicated servers when they shut down. I don't think forcing companies to run servers forever is tenable, and slapping an expiration date on the games is less helpful than it seems. Would be nice to enforce distributing those tools on shutdown, but that seems like a difficult fight considering what right to repair looks like.

This year in particular has just been a fucking awful job market. I lost my job in January and had severance last a couple months, but even after spending every day reading job boards and filing job applications until I was emotionally exhausted, I had zero callbacks for seven months. It was only a few months ago that I got two interviews, and I got offers from both. As soon as I accepted, I had some other companies suddenly crawling to me with offers. I'm still recovering from my debts accrued in that time, but I'm finally in a much better place now. Keep going at it, and I promise something will crack.

I had this kind of moment with Prey.

Wow, people don't even have to finish the Blender render before spreading out "leaks" huh

This is definitely a big blocker for my move to Linux as well, I'm heavily dependent on my Elgato HD60 X

I dunno, it looks pretty cute and fun to me

I think it would be hard to nail down the overall demeanor. Of course there's the stereotype that men are closed up emotionally and sometimes male toxicity enforces that, but I think it really just comes down to how people develop emotionally and if they feel secure to trust others with those emotions.

I got my hands on a Master Edition of the first book years ago and fell in love with it! I'm super excited for this. What are some TOTK recipes that you guys would want to see?

I've already had lots of concerns about continuing to use windows, but recall and copilot in general send me reeling. I'd like to start migrating to Linux on both my machines, but right now it would be much easier to do so on my laptop than my main PC just yet.

The main concern I have is that I've had rough times with drivers on laptops running Linux, so I want to assess the QoL of Linux on Surface. I've dug around already on reddit and lemmy and seen some mention of the Surface Linux drivers that exist, but I'm hoping to get a personal account of as close a scenario as mine would be.

I'm big on KDE Neon, and I want to run it on my Surface Laptop Studio. Can anybody tell me if you've done the same or similar, and how is it? What's the most trouble you've run into?
