Stars are just someone's bookmark (me included) because there's no simple "bookmark this because I'll forget in an hour and want to look at it later when I have time." If one trusts Stars, you're literally trusting a bookmark that I didn't put more than 2 seconds of thought into clicking because I have a bad memory. Many I know do the same.

I go straight to code history, show me what the commits look like. One can derive a lot about the project based on just the way the commit messages are written before looking at the code being changed. How the code is changed over time (process, communication, methods, etc.) adds more layers to the qualitative observation. I move on to Issues when I want to see how the devs interact with the users having problems, which is another story.

The dichotomy here is you can't be famous hosting exploits on smaller forges. Gotta be on the big platforms where you can be starred and forked for social media cred to make news stories to impress your friends. IIRC I think HeartBleed (maybe ShellShock?) was the tip of this popularity iceberg...

Feline leukemia (FeLV) snd aids (FIV) are a thing, I highly recommend a vet visit for tests before introducing to Paxton. A full blood test & vax shots, inspection can run $$, look around your area for rescue groups, call them and ask who they go to for care.

Soundcloud kinda took the same journey as Flickr - at first they had a solid hold on a corner of mindshare and people loved it and used it a lot. But then over the years conflicting mission goals appear and the site gets pulled back and forth, shedding a lot of users in the process. In modern terms, enshittification.

Eventually they make their way back around to possibly where they started, but by then they've lost all momentum and mindshare. Just like I never went back to Flickr, I just now tried to log into Soundcloud and it hit me with a "been too long since you've logged in, forced password reset" so I closed the window and walked away.

Shoutcast (Icecast) streams are still going strong if you're willing to put in some effort uncovering ones for your genres. SomaFM is still going strong, Big Sonic Heaven is online, DecayFM, Voice of Doom, Dark Asylum, even public radio like CHIRP (Chicago) are pumping out streams run by humans playing new music.

The grass clippings are a good idea and easy - find something porous to hold them in (cheese cloth? a hairnet would work) and a large bucket of water. soak for a week(?) like making tea and you'll have a great nutrient plant water.

If you have any banana peels grind em throw some in the bucket, they have great phosphates and potassium. Probably keep the bucket covered in case mosquitoes. Dispose of the solid matter as appropriate, you don't want algae or mold so make it use it clean it cycles.
