There is a lot of environmental storytelling in Thanalan that I really like. There is a staircase leading out of one of the exits from Ul’Dah called the “thousand steps of [name I can’t remember]”. The little zone name pops up and you kind of never think about it. It turns out that that place was where a previous royal was sentenced to walk up and down them until she died. Or the giant statues carved into the side of a cliff, etc. It’s always been one of my favorite areas.
Ul’dah is still pretty cool, though.
It’s only damning if there are consequences.
I don’t have a lifetime pass; I pay the monthly subscription. I would prefer to use Jellyfin, but Plex works better and the Jellyfin app on Apple TV is abysmal. That’s pretty much it. If Jellyfin worked better, I’d switch, but I’m not suffering through it for some principle against paying for software.
A couple years between releases when the app is as bad as it is might as well be never. I’m not suffering through using an app that barely works in the hope that that some year it will improve.
I figured it would be a decent amount. I set up a recurring payment via Patreon ages ago and I’m glad I did. My $5 USD/mo isn’t going to change the world, but I hope it helps.
I’ve had this guy kicking around in my backlog for years and decided he’d be a good candidate for an Orksperiment. I wanted to see how well I could do using mostly contrast/speed paints. The only traditional paint is the undercoat, the red for the symbols, and a bright metallic dry brush over the metals. I’m really happy with how this turned out!
My issue is primarily the poor writing. SNW was the bright spot among the live action new shows, but it really feels like it’s nosediving in terms of writing quality.
I don’t expect new Trek to be the same as 90’s Trek, but it really feels like it’s written by writers who are not all that interested in Trek and just want to make a contemporary drama with a delta on it. Earlier series had a “period piece set in the future” vibe that I really miss.
I drew the line when my Windows box told me I couldn’t do something even with admin. Kid, you work for ME, not the other way around.
Always preferred Linux over Windows, but I had issues with games on it. I just decided that I wouldn’t play any games that didn’t work. That was a couple of years ago now, and things have only improved since.
My fiance, who is not a technical person, even decided she wanted her new PC to run Linux unprompted, which is a hell of a win for Linux and for me in not having to support a Windows box in the house.
I picked that one up, but haven’t built up the courage to start building it yet.
I decided to try doing these in contrast. Necromunda isn’t my main game, so I don’t want to spend ages on each mini.
I finished this guy the night before an event this weekend and took the opportunity to snap a pic of him on one of the really cool tables they had set up.
I haven’t been hitting 40k very hard this year, but I wanted to bring at least one new model to the narrative.

This is the first model in my third BAs army over the years. I started my first in 2nd edition but ended up losing them, my second in fifth, but sold them because I was sure I wasn’t going to be playing again. I came back in eighth, but my Tyranids just didn’t scratch the same itch.
Thought I'd post a photo here. It's my favorite SIsters model I've done. My original intent was to start a Sisters army, with the intent of leaving covid lockdown with a finished army. That didn't happen and I had to abandon ship and focus on my Tyranids. Sisters have the level of detail of an elite army, but the model count of nearly a horde army and that just broke me.
I'll probably pick away at them one unit at a time here and there, and maybe I'll have a full force by the time 15th edition rolls around.
I have generally stopped caring what people think of me, and it has actually made me a more pleasant, confident person.
