The OG Linda Belcher (he's really the voice)

They're young and I try to be tolerant cause in the end he's as much a part of society as anyone else. But he's kind of a mean little shit that is friendly to my kid. I believe he has a diagnosis for something, I didn't want to pry and ask his parents. He's the kind of kid that sees red when he gets mad and can't control it. I have no idea why my kid gravitates towards him but also glad he can make friends with people like this cause I truly believe if you don't support kids like this they'll be ostracized and fall into some pretty terrible online influences etc as they get older. But man it's like stressful to hang out with him. He's so antagonistic and mean spirited. Alas, such is parenting.

I like Meow Tower. It's a nonogram puzzle game which was new to me, you get the hang of it pretty quick and it's nice to have something other than a merge puzzle. Plus cute cats!

Woo! What a great skate! I love that she skates to Donna Summer and she's having so much fun. I'm so old I learned what a frenulum piercing is now.

Hello! I'm not a Kiwi, but I studied abroad there 21 years ago! ugh that's a long time. I'd like to come back and visit your beautiful country again. Maybe do the Routeburn Track in earnest. Made it to like the first hut since we were short on time. Is Tui still delicious beer or is it just my youthful tastebuds being nostalgic? Anyway, enjoy your sensible leadership while I suffer away in the last vestiges of the U.S. Sorry our ridiculous billionaires are trying to build bunkers over there.

I've been to the Komodo Dragon island! Saw that photo and was like hey I've seen them! I didn't travel to Indonesia to see them but we were honeymooning and since we were that close decided to do an excursion. They are so cool and nuts that we could just like be as close to them as we were. Like our guide just had this long stick with a v at the end and I'm just thinking if they really wanted to fuck us up that stick isn't doing shit. But the dragons we saw were mostly chilling. We did hear a woman got bit the day before and had to be helicoptered out of there...komodos can take down a water buffalo. They'll just bite their prey and poison them and then just patiently follow them forever until their prey keel over and die. Then meat's back on the menu! Man Komodos are so cool. Anyway, I highly recommend seeing them but also I didn't get bit, might be a different story if I was that other lady.

Ah good job Canada, you elected a level-headed leader who seems very clear-eyed and determined to see your country through this mess with integrity and honor. I wish you the best, from your worst southern neighbor.

Amazing. All of Games Done Quick is so impressive to me. How in the world do people figure out things like if you just propel yourself into this very specific part of a wall you get flung to the last level of the castle??

Just watched a trailer for it. Might have to grab it. Looks like he teamed up with the Ape Out devs?? Nice.

I just now noticed the person in the back controlling him with the keyboard! Hahaha!

I, for one, embrace that I am no longer hip nor cool. Feels great.

There's a hurdle?!?

My six-year-old asked me how we walk and as I was trying to tell him a literal simple explanation of how our brain tells our muscles to move and lift our leg etc. he lifts his knee and as soon as I see his pose it hits me like HEY there's a game that is about exactly this. QWOP!

Ah ladies and gentleman, take a trip down memory lane to the absurdity and inanity of trying to get your able-bodied runner down the track in his quest for the 100m. My personal best is... 3.7m and I consider that a feat! Ah this game is the best of the Internet.

As an American parent, I'm probably not going to stay up for mine lol. Celebrating the UTC new year. Woo!

Ha! Just finished Thank Goodness You're Here and it was the silliest, raunchiest, Northern Englishest?? thing I've played in a while. It was a bit of a fever dream. Like an Adult Swim cartoon with a joke a minute that you're sort of "playing." There's not much in the way of controls and yet it was still incredibly satisfying how you unexpectedly interact with this bizarre world. Everyone in this town is off their rocker yet also loveable? I don't even know how to describe it it was so unique. I guess just play it if this at all sounds intriguing. Short, but a completely wonderful way to spend a few hours.

Wow! It's so fun. I got the Etsy glass bead magnet tool and it works like a charm. This is ILNP Velour. I only used the magnet after the top coat and I'm impressed.

Was on the other site when a commenter pointed out a response that and like 5 or 6 replies to that comment that were all bots. I am finally getting exposed to the concept of dead internet theory. So, how prevalent are bots on a place like lemmy? Are there natural safeguards against bots? I'm not an engineer and probably need a dumbed down explanation. But I did make it to lemmy! So I've got that going for me...

Awful to see the steady dismantling of the CDC. There are doctors and science advocates coming together to scaffold and build up trustworthy sources of info outside of the CDC. I follow epidemiologist Katelyn Jetelina and she has a great newsletter she started up around Covid and has kept going - https://yourlocalepidemiologist.substack.com/ She recommends the general public avoid the CDC web site now. She recommends healthychildren.org powered by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Some U.S. states have also partnered together i.e. the West Coast Health Alliance that have pulled away from the CDC recommendations. A friend of mine in health noted it's a big reason why we (I'm in California) can still get our Covid vaccines regardless of age while her sister in Oklahoma was denied. I know there are some North Eastern states that have also partnered up. Going to be very different healthcare messaging to navigate state by state...

Hope this is true for other states as well.

Saw an early screening in 70mm of One Battle After Another - highly recommend it! Great time. I didn't really know what to expect other than I knew it was Paul Thomas Anderson and I've liked his films and I've seen this trailer. I laughed a lot. Acting is top notch. Benicio Del Toro chef's kiss Johnny Greenwood score. I feel like anyone who appreciates movies will appreciate this one. I believe it opens wide (U.S.) tomorrow Sep 26.
