Fwiw I’ve always liked it being opt-out over here in Belgium. In fact, among the European countries it’s just Germany and a handful of others that don’t do it that way.

Being an organ donor isn’t a big deal when everyone is. On the political level it’s just a given.

When my dad died he gave three other people an extended lease on life. It helps me to think about that sometimes.

I can ‘get’ people feeling weird about getting picked apart once they’re dead. But the thing is, you won’t notice much. And they’re going to cut you open at the funeral home anyway. So you might as well go out paying it forward.

Golgotha gave me glotrot. My own fault: I should have taken the ‘sore throat’ seriously. When I looked up what I’d have to do to cure it I just removed it with a wish command (in other words: I applied a cheat code). Wish I hadn’t though, because it felt like I tarnished my save

Been a while since I last played Qud but almost not a day goes by without me thinking I should play it again.

In roleplay mode though.

I don’t think I’d emotionally survive permadeath 20 hours into a run.

My longest save has 30 hours. Couple of deaths along the way. Nowhere near ready to cross to the eastern half of the map.

How anyone plays it as a classical roguelike is a mystery to me

Eh, sometimes a simple question is just a fun way to get the conversation going.

Can I please stand behind you in the airport security queue, just to see what happens?

Happy to say I’ve so far been spared from witnessing this. There’s an obvious shamelesness to doing anything on speaker in public, but this one would actually hurt

I wish I was brave enough to keep playing. Even at 720p docked on the Switch I was just too stressed out all the time. The low rendering distance didn’t help, I’ll admit. Beautiful world though

Right?! If it’s a given there’ll be an encore anyway, what’s even the point. Just means a whole lot of extra clapping for literally zero point. Like, at this point it’s just a part of the crowd work kit. I feel played every time

Beautiful. Piss off the oligarchs and punch through the propaganda. Not to mention the precision of the drone strikes. Industrial/unoccupied targets only. Unlikely to see the same from the inevitable Russian response

Yeah, that’s really dishonest framing. The whole point of vibe coding is not reading the code but trusting in its correctness based on vibes. That’s fine for low-risk internal programs, but just a downright terrible strategy for anything else, even if you have an independent test suite. Those tests may pass, but the implementation itself will be an unreadable mess

Just learned there’s such a thing as ‘internal’ shingles, where it does its thing closer to the nerves. Fuck

Just the rash was bad enough when I had it. It’s not something you forget, the sensation of one side of your body constantly being zapped as though by electricity
