I was unironically told that I should "keep a lower profile" if I want to avoid being bullied. I spoke to nobody and hugged the walls walking from class to class. I don't know how much lower of a profile I could keep.

Not to say it wasn't bad back then, but I live a pretty comfortable life and nursing a kitten would probably still be the best part of my day.

I live in Appalachia and people here regularly use ham for weather reports but that's about it. If there was an actual emergency I assume that would be sent out as well.

Yeah, we have a barred owl living nearby that would absolutely love that box. She looks to be about the size of a large cat.
