'06 G&L JB-2 (sh.itjust.works)

Just showing off my new bass to try to keep this community alive.

This is a 2006, made in Fullerton G&L JB-2. Read Jazz Bass 2. Their "upgraded" version of a classic Fender design, as they usually do. It has a super light L-2000 body, the usual 1.5" nut width and a slim C neck. It also features G&Ls amazing saddle lock bridge, six bolt neck joint and aluminium tuners. I think this particular one was an artist model (it's not marked anywhere) hence the gorgeous quilt top and natural binding you don't really find on other models. It's strikingly beautiful in person. It's also impressively well put together from neck pocket to finish.

I always liked the J-style sound but wasn't really into the oversized and overweight offset body of the original. I was also impressed with all the G&Ls I've laid my hands upon so when this showed up from a seller nearby at a great price, I immediately bought it. It's all I could've hoped for sound and feel wise and it's a looker to boot. The only thing missing to be pure G&L would be MFD pickups, but as far as I know, they don't make J-style MFDs.

So anyway just wanted to share an amazing find I'm ecstatic to have made. Anybody here also into those?

Agreed. As a game it was one of the best Ubi has done maybe ever imo.

It was. Most of it's criticism comes from the fact that it's not really an assassin's creed game anymore. It was mostly far cry: ancient greece

Wait until you find out about Duesenberg. They made 400hp supercharged straight 8 monsters that cost more than a doctors annual salary back in the 20's and 30's. They were much faster than even race cars of the era. IMO the first relative "hypercars" if you compare what else was available.

And they're the best at all of that.

Consequences of your decisions is what makes this game special. You're going to have a bad time going forward with this game if you cannot deal with the fomo.

I got interested in roundcore rounds since I kinda like the more mellow sound but I don't really enjoy the always dead sound of flats. I also heard roundcores felt more flexible or balanced tension wise and that's very appealing to me. So does any one of you have experience with any of these strings? How would you describe their sound vs a hexcore for example? And considering I play med gauge (45-105) could I go a gauge up for a bit higher tension and better low end clarity?

In this particular case, it does. Whales are air breathing mammals.

How could joysticks replace keyboards apart from forcing you to use a virtual keyboard with a joystick? Is everything else about computing the same or is it some form of fantasy joystick centered computer? Anyway what's more important is that joysticks already exist in computing and we know they serve a specific purpose and really suck for the rest cause we tried. We designed the computer after all so we control how we interact with them. Not like we found them in the wilds and they somehow only had a joystick.
