DOGE cut the security guard that checks for devices.

And did anything of importance happen (or not happen) in those 25 hours?

You don't even need that. A random box will do just fine. You just need enough for the pcie plate to not get in the way. Then maybe something to prop up the GPU so it doesn't tip over depending on how big it is. But I've run a sideways motherboard just fine.

A Deck has two touchpads that work as mice.

And they suck trying to use them for an FPS.

India, where Apple is increasingly building iPhones and AirPods, is getting a 26% reciprocal tariff.

Vietnam, where the company now makes some AirPods, iPads, Apple Watches and Macs, will be hit with a 46% levy.

Malaysia, where Apple is increasingly making Mac computers, will have a 24% tariff.

Thailand, where the company also makes some Macs, will get a 36% levy.

Ireland, within the European Union, gets a 20% tariff. Apple produces some iMacs there.

Can't wait to pay 20-40% more for various devices. This sure is liberating.

Good news is that QMK isn't typically on garbage (yet) so filtering by has QMK first helps a lot.

USB PD 1.0 is irredenta in 2025. 2.0 is basically irrevent outside of old device still on sale.

If the charger does 60 watts or greater it's going to be 20v. https://www.renesas.com/sites/default/files/media/images/normative-voltage-source-pdp-rating.png

Everything made in the past like 4 years is 3.0. Ideally you shouldn't buy anything that isn't PPS (programmable power supply) because it makes charging a LOT more efficient.

But good luck finding a 12v adapter, they're very hit or miss on supporting it since 12v is optional now and not a lot of things support it.

Monitor bezel is for the less secure systems. Under the keyboard is for the secure stuff.

And the really secure systems are in the filing cabinet.

Good ol caching, gotta love it.

Is there any plan to try to fix federation with hexbear.net? Shortly after their domain expired it stopped working, but now that it's back it doesn't seem to have resumed. Does Lemmy even have something in place to fix federation issues when something like this happens?

I have an X61 Tablet and I'd like to get the original Lenovo recovery media for XP tablet edition (I think version 2005) mostly so I can get all of the drivers and functionality working.

I currently have an XP Pro install but that doesn't have any of the special tablet features. And my xp tablet edition install decided it doesn't want to work anymore and BSODs on start, and I don't feel like dealing with the hunt for old drivers.

Does anyone know where or how I can acquire isos or even the actual recovery CDs for this machine?
