Palestinians knew who they were when they elected them.

When hundreds of civilians are murdered by terrorist, that's not the moment to talk about rewarding the terrorists, which is exactly what they are asking Israel to do.

To be ABSOLUTELY CLEAR: Israel has offered peace deals and two state solutions many times before. Palestinians always walk away.

So this should be the moment that progressive turn to the PALESTINIANS and say, time for YOU to end the occupation by taking a peace deal that isn't your favorite, because this terrorism shit is 1000% evil and unacceptable.

We have a lot of nightmare scenarios in the future: Trump wins, Trump loses and we get insurrection part II, Biden wins and we don't take the house and keep the Senate, and we have at least 2 more years of gridlock while our lives continue to get shittier, etc etc.

The true tragedy is that there isn't even a good outcome in the mix. Biden wins and Democrats take Congress. Fine, will they fix the courts? Fix student loans? Will they even try for universal healthcare? Universal Basic Income? Anything even close to meeting the moment?

So depressing.

Anyway, vote Biden so at least we don't wind up in a fascist dictatorship.

Moderate Democrats: "so you'll work with us instead, to pass legislation that keeps the lights on, and addresses some of the problems we both agree exist?"

McCarthy: "No. Fuck you. Die in a fire."

The problem with blanket attacks on capitalism is that it ignores the fact that the US became an economic superpower under capitalism, and we built the strongest middle class in history under capitalism WHEN WE MIXED IN SOCIALIST PROGRAMS.

BASIC economics shows that BY FAR capitalism is the most efficient way to generate wealth.

It sounds profoundly ignorant to be against that system.

Instead, we should be talking about what to do with the wealth it generates.

Bernie Sanders "Democratic socialism" is actually "capitalist socialism". It leaves in place all the profit incentives and machinery of innovation and production, but then it redistributes wealth away from the hoarders at the top, and gives it back to the workers who generated it.

This is a much more compelling system to fight for than just a blanket "capitalism bad!" argument.

If it was a Republican dressing like this, I think Democrats wouldn't be so quick to defend or excuse it. They would see it as a sign of disrespect for the institution.

Of course, the difference there is that the Republicans have a history of disrespecting the institution... So that complicates the issue.

On the other hand, we're not talking about loosening things up a little bit. This isn't a guy who's wearing an open collar without a tie, or wearing a t-shirt with a sportcoat. He's dressing like he's lounging in a dorm room.

It really does seem deliberately disrespectful.

I wonder if the ultra rich understand just how much genuine malice is directed at them.

People were cheering for the submarine to implode.

It really seems like the world is full of tinder, waiting for a spark.

I can't wait for her to be president!

It's so pathetic that all these UFO stories are being taken seriously by world governments. What's next? Will they turn down the lights in the capital and tell ghost stories?

Anti-nuclear is like anti-GMO and anti-vax: pure ignorance, and fear of that which they don't understand.

Nuclear power is the ONLY form of clean energy that can be scaled up in time to save us from the worst of climate change.

We've had the cure for climate change all along, but fear that we'd do another Chernobyl has scared us away from it.

If Trump had smiled in his mugshot, putting it on merch would have been a fine idea for his campaign.

But the look in that mugshot is just plain sinister. Like if he had TRIED to look guilty, he couldn't have done a better job than he did in that photo.

We all know his supporters are a cult, so this won't bother them at all. But if they go putting this evil-looking mugshot in everyone's face for the duration of the campaign, they are going to turn off a lot of the independent voters.

No orange jumpsuit. No prisoner number. No height lines in the background.
