I made peace with someone! In the past, LinkOpensChest and I had quite the aggressive tussle over whether communists should vote for biden in the general election. Proof:

If you're interested in fighting, you can go find that conversation yourself and see the full context. But this post is about positive change, which is that us two are no longer fighting! Now I just have to do the same with everyone else who has a problem with me.

A lemmy.dbzer0.com admin by the handle of Unruffled, actual username @[email protected], posted an ableist comment today in relation to a ban decision.

Unruffled's explanation for the ban is that people with narcissistic personality disorder are not a victimised demographic, and that when pwNPD claim to be marginalised, this is an abuse tactic.

Wikipedia says on its page for NPD:

It is often comorbid with other mental disorders and associated with significant functional impairment and psychosocial disability.[1]

People with NPD are significantly functionally impaired, and psychosocially disabled. I could bring up a half dozen corroborating sources, but I'll skip that for now.

Now, the fact that people with the disability known as NPD suffer unfair hatred shouldn't be a controversial statement. A great example is the stereotype that pwNPD are abusive, and everything they do is a manipulation. This stereotype is massively damaging. In fact, if you have NPD and you look to Google for resources on dealing with your disability and improving your mental health, the first result you'll get is sources on how you're an evil abuser and resources for people who've been abused by you.

This is a significant barrier to treatment. In addition to the physical difficulty of finding resources by sifting through the hate, it can provoke feelings of shame and defensiveness, and drive people to avoid or distrust all online resources about their disability. And, like autism, a lot of the disability of NPD comes from other people's intolerance. The idea that we're all abusers primes people to see and choose aggression when dealing with us. It starts fights, it gets people hurt, it turns out lives into one big punching match.

The fact Unruffled engaged in this counterfactual stereotype while denying basic medical facts about a disability is troubling. It's my opinion that db0 should have a long conversation with Unruffled about sensitivity towards disabled people. Ideally, Unruffled would come away feeling ashamed of their behaviour and with a resolution to do better. But in the event Unruffled is unruffled by the conversation and unwilling to improve their behaviour, they should be banned from lemmy.dbzer0.com immediately for clear hate.

Lemmy is full of plenty of people who hate me for being trans and disabled. And way too many self-identified leftists who think I'm being trans and disabled the wrong way and am therefore a right wing troll.

Most of the well known Lemmy instances lean communist, even if their admins can be quite socially regressive. As such I've accumulated a reputation as being a troublemaker for the left. I want to go make trouble for the right to fix my reputation. I wanna go talk shit, stir up drama, and get banned. I want the modlogs to say a bunch of open bigots hate me instead of the closet bigots who hate me now. I wanna ruin some nazis' days and call them shitheads. Where do I go on the Fediverse to go make trouble for the open reactionaries?

Western atheism and antitheism often exist as reactions to Christianity on a factual or ethical basis, while remaining within a Christian cultural and moral context. Historically, Christians and atheists have worked together to attack other religions, such as in the case of the stolen generations in Australia or the cult panic in America. This pattern of behaviour is counterintuitive if you're culturally Christian (as most atheists are), but from a broader cultural perspective it's kind of obvious. Christianity and white atheism exist as offshoots of the same history in the same way that Catholicism and Protestantism do.

If you have an actual understanding of pre-roman polytheism, then you're capable of seeing the difference between belief and worship. A difference Christians have tried to erase, and white atheists have not challenged. Giving up cultural Christianity is beyond most white atheists' ability to even imagine. What I call cultural Christianity, they would just as soon call "common sense" or "reality".

Also I've never met an antitheist who has spent longer than an hour thinking about whether they're advocating cultural genocide of indigenous people.

Yeah I think that the white monarchist government of my country is illegitimate and that ownership of the land should be returned to the indigenous people. If the white people don't like it they can go back to England

Also since the government is illegitimate, cops are actually occupying soldiers and killing them is ethically A-okay.

Things I am in favour of conserving:

The environment
Multigenerational family structures
Indigenous sovereignty
Oral traditions
Unions
Technological progress
Trans rights
Historical records
Mythologies and religions
Pagan traditions
The Palestinian people
Ukraine
Civil rights advances
Abandonware and lost media
Indigenous holy sites
Native species

I want to conserve lots of stuff. Am I a conservative?

The article speaks as though DeSantis is a person, which obviously implicitly platforms the idea that the self exists as a distinct entity. This is not a universally recognised truth; Buddhism and some other Asian religions do not recognise it. The article is biased and refuses to address the cultural assumptions put into its writing.

Yes, this fact means that everything you've ever read is biased. This is because it's true, everything is biased. Everything is culturally relative. Reality is a social construct and every piece of journalism which claims the existence of reality is biased.

I was just banned from [email protected] with the following modlog: Harassment. Do not come to random communities for your grudges, Use the rerport button when actual issues occur. I like ADHD memes, it wasn't a random community. But that aside, Lemmy is designed so that I can't follow this advice, because banned users cannot submit reports. So I am doing my best to follow the instructions as closely as possible, and submitting this post in lieu of a report. Stamets repeatedly called me a slur directed at people with NPD, which I have, off-community and defended it on dbzer0. MetaCubed also called me a slur after its status as a slur was pointed out. I ask for instance bans for both of them, because slurs directed at members of a marginalised group from outside are obviously in violation of the anarchist code of conduct. I would be submitting this as a literal report if I were able.
