Both Peter Thiel and Musk are incredibly dangerous to America's democracy. Here's another choice quote from the site:

Peter Thiel has held “I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible” for many years. In 2022, he ripped up $100 dollar bills on stage at the Bitcoin Conference, stating “Bitcoin is the most honest market in the world. It’s the most efficient market… It is telling us that the central banks are bankrupt, that we are at the end of the fiat money regime.” In a 2024 podcast, he stated “Liberalism is exhausted, one suspects that democracy, whatever that means, is exhausted, and that we have to ask some questions very far outside the Overton window." PayPal was originally founded to replace the US dollar. Peter Thiel stated in his book, Zero to One: “PayPal had a suitably grand mission — the kind that post-bubble skeptics would later describe as grandiose. We wanted to create a new internet currency to replace the US dollar.” PayPal’s “co-founder” was Elon Musk, showing both parties aimed to replace the US dollar from a very early date in their careers. Marc Andreessen has also been instrumental in financing the rise of Bitcoin.

Let's not forget about JD Vance, the current Vice President, who after a talk Thiel did at Yale Law School, described it as “the most significant moment of my time” at the institution. He later went on to be mentored by Thiel and joined one of his VC companies. He also received about $15 million dollars in donation from Thiel for his Senate campaign in 2022 which was ultimately successful. This was the largest amount donated to a single Senate candidate ever. Forbes published a good timeline of Thiel and Vance's relationship last year.

I feel like I'm a crazy person, but I'm starting to believe the conspiracy of tech billionaires trying to dismantle the government to create network states. I'm almost certain they will gut the SEC eventually as well, so they can deregulate cryptocurrency. This was a summary I've recently read: Day One of Venture Capital Takeover.

Everyone should google Network States and the cities these VC billionaires are trying to create. Stuff like Próspera, Pronomos Capital, Praxis Nation, Bitcoin City in El Salvador, Afropolitan in Africa etc. etc. The same website has long page on it: The Status of the Network State. They are essentially creating sovereign states or cities that aren't beholden to any local government laws and use their own deregulated cryptocurrencies, so that they can control all the rules and power within.

I have no idea how trustworthy the site I linked is, but I can't see what they would gain from lying about it

Yeah it's crazy to me, over 300 million citizens in the US alone, but just a handful of billionaires is all it takes to destroy democracy and the government. It honestly feels like violence will be the only option to get at these billionaires as it seems there is no longer any way to cripple them financially. They are completely fearless in their meddling.

I'm not in the US, but the news coming out almost daily since Trump took office has been pretty worrying to me. I encourage everyone to watch and spread this video: How Tech Billionaires Plan to Destroy America. I feel like a tinfoil hatter but, what's laid out in the video is very convincing after just a couple weeks into Trump's presidency.

I'm an outsider looking in, but isn't that still a problem? The unchecked capitalism which has now created an oligarchy in the US with the media and government being controlled by the richest of the rich? They're so sure no one can do anything about it any more that they manipulate overtly and don't even try to hide what they're doing.

Seeing what's happening in the US is very worrying.

The people trying to dismiss it are delusional. In the clip he literally turns around and does it again. He also does it with such passion and emphasis, how can you say it's anything else? Arguing over where he touched his chest is ridiculous. There are now a number of comparison clips online with Hitler and other Neo Nazis doing it to show how it's practically the same.

In short, Brandon Galambos is either an idiot or a Nazi and maybe even both.

Literally the richest man in the world, who's now got the President of one of the richest countries in the world with the strongest military, in his pocket. Doing a Nazi salute twice on a national stage with very likely no repercussions whatsoever. Not to mention all the other billionaires at the inauguration. This is truly a cursed timeline.

That Doomsday clock must be very close to midnight by now

Personally If I want to eat a lot of tortilla chips, I get the 1KG bags from Tio Pablo, no "cheese" flavour though!

Used to love the mexicano ones but they're not as good as they used to be. Also their Jalapeno flavour is barely spicy, even my 2 year old can eat it.

In dishwasher news, our dishwasher still seems to work however we seem to have lost the hydraulics? spring? that keeps the door from dropping fully open. I guess we can still live with it for now, just have to be careful when opening it.

I see. Only thing it's a big hassle to take it to the recycling place here, not sure it fits in our car and no tow bar either. I did find out that it's only $30 for Heathcotes to do old appliance removal if I buy through them though.

Haha I have heard before you can get the Ecosa mattresses cheaper by looking for the returned ones at salvation army stores. Not sure if that's still the case. Anyway I'd prefer full latex vs memory foam type which we've had for a long time already. I don't know I feel kind of bad to give an unsupportive mattress away to someone knowing they'll be waking up with sore backs sooner or later 😂

Heathcotes (local to me) has a Series 6 for $1699 currently, however I need to actually confirm our old one is broken.. we haven't used it since the other night. Do you remember where you bought your Miele from?

I don't think it comes or goes back through the normal couriers 😂I know the likes of Ecosa usually just donate the returned mattresses to the salvation army and just get them to pick it up in their trucks. We're thinking of getting a latex one from peacelily.co.nz. And also trying to figure out how to dispose of our old mattress if we do keep it!

Oh man I'd love a Miele one but don't know if I can justify the cost. Some of the Bosch Series 6 dishwashers seem decently priced at the moment. I mean if we could live for the last 6 years with a 20 year old one, we probably don't need a top of the line one. I just got to make sure whoever delivers it can remove the old one, as I have no way to dispose of it.

Yeah been thinking about the bed for the last couple months and really want to get it sorted. Nothing fancy, just need a mattress. I just want to make sure it's really firm. Probably going to try one of the online ones that have 100 day trials so I can return if we're not happy. No $10K beds for us, no thank you 😂. We also just switched to buckwheat pillows to see if it helps, I like them as I used one when I was younger, but it hasn't alleviated the back pains.

I think some other brands of Air Fryers have the ability to control fan speed, but they're probably more expensive. To be honest I really don't rate most Russell Hobbs small appliances. We got a food steamer a couple of years ago for less than $50, but it's RRP is like $129! With the quality and simplicity of it, $50 was already pushing it haha
