lets hope it "sticks". Any class in economics say "diversify your portfolio", Canada needs just that. 10% hit is less than 90% hit if you're dealing with multiple partners.

Taking over Dems is next to impossible for progressives as entrenched elite is backed by "big money" and is effective at torpedoing progressives every time. Take big money out of politics and you may have a chance at overtaking party, otherwise - screwed

those are words of a politician. This is what "sells" today. We'll need to see very specific actions to back it up. Thus far most politicians shown lack of spine and would turn on a dime at first opportunity. Canada could've been "divorced" from US for over a decade now when Cretien hinted at desire to move in that direction... but nope, here we are overdependant on US and thumping our chests "never again".

challenging? sure, but if there were ever conditions for the viable split it would be now. Progressives could splinter Democrats enough for mainstream dems take notice. What's needed is a desire to make it happen and a few capable leaders to unite folks behind the idea... AOC and Bernie may be able to pull it off but haven't indicated any desire yet

With the levels of dissatisfaction with Dems, does it even matter? Isn't it time to form a progressive party and splinter off?

While somewhat effective during POTUS45 she's useless now and listening to her is like listening to drier tumbling your clothes - amusing but ultimately useless

Keep in mind that last election their support base shrunk and NDP genuinely gained a lot. And now their Trump antics may become a liability in next elections. So hopefully they'll dip into minority territory.

But I can agree that in politics are few people with enough charisma to lead. She is one of them.
