Stingrays have been around for ages, I have to imagine there are more sophisticated versions. We know ICE is using apps developed by Palantir. Usually "fear mongering" only applies to unreasonable fears.

If I were going to one of these, I'd leave my phone at home, or keep it in a Faraday bag.

I understood them as representing humanities greed. All the races stand in for some aspect of humanity. Our violence, our suspicion, our logic, our greed, etc...

Some people did make comparisons to Jewish stereotypes and while there are a few I don't think it's too strong. Klingon culture has flavours of Samurai in it, but it doesn't make them stand ins for Japanese.

Yes, but you can also be long in futures or options. They can be more profitable but are higher risk. Assuming that you aren't in the room for market shifting events anyway, then the bets are much more certain.

What's confusing? You have the most short sighted, transactional president ever and he took a bribe. Or someone convinced him they gave him a bribe.

I was thinking that. This is an evergreen headline until he croaks.

The leadership of the country waging the war are saying completely opposing things, to be fair.

The war is over, it's not a war, no troops, but we're moving troops. We don't need allies, send allies, allies are cowards, all sorts of things.

He won't make the same mistake twice!

The author completely misses the point. Trump does in fact represent you. That's how your system works.

But beyond that, the problem is deeper than him. He's a symptom, not the disease. If the vaunted checks and balances worked, we wouldn't be having this discussion. If there were a meaningful opposition, we wouldn't be having this discussion. There were countless failures along the way that allowed the situation to get to where it is.

Even if you elect someone sane next time, there's no guarantee it won't happen again.

I swear this article could have been written 20 years ago and barely changed a thing. Bell is absolute garbage, and this incompetence is a deliberate tactic to screw customers because they often have no recourse.

Permanent residency delays in Quebec are about 10 years, according to Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada's (IRCC) processing times website.

They kinda buried one of the major issues here. If they were waiting six months that would be one thing, but 10 years? That's insane.

This movement is all about Smith keeping a loony wing of her own party happy, it has nothing to do with helping Alberta.

The immigration angle is especially cynical. It was just a few years ago that she was complaining Trudeau wasn't letting in enough immigrants.

If they didn't have double standards they'd have no standards at all.
