Does that mean the limit is like half a drink?

Have you met border guard people?

It's a position of power, which attracts the type of person who gets off on having power over people. As a bonus, they get to project all of their racist fears onto people, then punish them for it. It's basically like being a cop, except I imagine they don't need to pass any sort of physical test to get in.

I have to go to America soon - I can't decide whether I should tell them to get fucked if they ask to search my phone (aka politely decline so they don't shoot me), or if I should just open this comment for them.

It turns out if a country causes turmoil in other nations, and constantly uses violent and dismissive rhetoric, other countries will talk shit about them 100% of the time. However, believe it or not, not everyone who says they would celebrate if Trump died is a terrorist. Most are just normal people with a functioning moral compass.

At the end of the day, searching phones just makes people uninstall apps or being different phones. At this point everyone is aware it could happen, so there is virtually no chance of catching anything actually illegal as no one would be stupid enough to unlock their phone if there was something incriminating on it. It basically just highlights America for the fascist asshole it is.

(The last two paragraphs are for the border guards, just in case 🙂)

Read this through my left eye in a pitch black room... due to my asymmetrical astigmatism, this is the only way I can use my phone in the dark. Hopefully it doesn't affect me for a while

Small towns are terrible for this. And racism

Despite the fact that poo steams if it is really cold outside, I have a strong suspicion they did not build a smoke stack to release a cloud of shit-smelling steam in the city.

And to think I didn't even know rezz was on lemmy!

Figured I would share this in case anyone is in the market for a new GPU.

For the last month or so, every NVIDIA driver released has been incompatible with 4000 series cards (at least when using display port). As soon as any of the last 4 driver releases are installed, the screen goes black, forcing you to boot into safe mode then roll back or uninstall the driver.

The 5000 series cards are very new - it's crazy that the seem to have just stopped supporting 1-2 year old cards so they can focus on their new line. That being said, the new drivers are allegedly not great for the 5000 series either.

TL;DR: Consider AMD, it'll probably work better with Linux anyways :)

I am currently using a legitimate copy of Windows 11, on the latest version. Just started getting this message after the latest update.

Considering I already have Linux and Mac as alternatives, if they actually pull my license they will just lose a lifelong customer. Their business decisions truly boggle the mind...

Incredible set

Funky electro house mix, classic Mat Zo

I have used Spotify for years, in spite of the fact that they pay artists terribly - the reason for this was that out of all the streaming services, they had the largest and most complete weekly playlist of new releases.

Having a new release playlist like this is quite important for DJs (or people who curate popular playlists... or people who just like music). I searched online and found that people have made posts on reddit stating that their new release playlists have also been severely limited.

After going to the Spotify forums, I came upon the bullshit I have linked, in which a Spotify employee tells everyone complaining that the playlist has always been limited to 30 tracks, and if anyone received more it was a temporary glitch (despite people providing evidence of having 200 tracks for 5+ years), or was caused by external factors (??? lol).

Personally I hate it when companies do things like this. I am not sure whether they are trying to get their power users to quit, or if they truly believe that they can get away with lying so blatantly.

I have decided that I will no longer be supporting them. Figured I would share in case anyone needs to make a decision regarding which service to go with.

This is another good free resource for exploring and creating alternate tuning systems.

Ableton User Group Resource Thread - Part 7 - Paid Production Resources

Paid Sample Libraries

As mentioned above, you don't really need to buy any additional samples. However, if you want some premade drum sounds or need to acquire licensed samples for a project, here are some options.

Recommended Paid Plugins

I'd advise watching videos / researching anything you are thinking about buying, as it is likely that there is something similar that is free.

Note: Many companies consistently go on sale for 50% off or more (iZotope). I'd advise making a list of plugins you want and waiting for a sale - some sites also offer educational discounts. Try asking!

Also, if you buy Waves plugins, you ~~are probably going to~~ will regret it.

Note: this collection of resource threads will be converted to a single post once the character limit is increased.
