Essentially the line of thought is that open source software is an example of mutual aid and the gift economy.

I actually don't mind hexbears and lemmygrad.ml. It is a good reminder to have that just like the world, the internet is filled with shitty people/beliefs. Makes it easier to take the things you see with a grain of salt. I don't want an echo chamber.
