If most companies jump off a cliff would you do that too?

What a way to run a business.

I'm not going to rule out the possibility of something existing that we don't know of yet.

However, if we're supposed to look for anything in any way, we first need to know what we're looking for. So, what's a ghost? Is a a soul, and if so, what's a soul?

I think that's an interesting question with or without ghost.

People who believe in souls, should attempt to explain what a soul is and how they experience their existence. Is it an emergent feature of the electrons or brainwaves that can travel in other dimensions that our normal physics can't detect or something completely unknown?

People who have experiences with ghosts and souls should be investigated. How do they detect their observations? Are they somehow able to sense things that happen in other dimensions? That'd be really cool, and I still won't rule it out. The human mind can do weird stuff. For instance echo localization like bats do, seeing more colours than normal or even just perfect pitch. Stuff like that is provable and shows that our senses can be expanded by training. Perhaps we even have dormant senses like seeing magnetic fields like birds do.

So let's say some people can see ghosts but we just can't measure it currently, because we don't know how it works. We can still make an experiment where we compare the observations from these special skills and see if they align. If it turns out that the people who can see ghosts agree, then we should definitely investigate it further and find out what happens in their heads when they see ghosts. Where does the brain impulses come from? That'll teach us about the special sense, which could then prove the existence of ghosts.

I doubt their observations match up in a controlled environment. It's a shame because it would be really easy to prove the existence of ghosts.

I've read speculations about him wanting Americans to riot so he can declare an emergency, and that's why people should refrain from rioting.

However, it's pretty clear that he's going to try to stage that emergency to grab power, whether or not the Americans riot.

Maybe he should have a national emergency. A real one that prevents him from grabbing the power.

Vask i weekenden.

I've tried Jerboa, Connect and Voyager. By now these all have the options to customize the view exactly how I want it. (Dark mode, tiny list, thumbnails on the right.) I don't care about clients that can't do that.

Jerboa was kind of buggy. Maybe it's better now, but that's what made me switch.

Connect has a lot of options. The developer is active in the Lemmy community trying to catch up with the bugs that somehow creep into every update. It has the superior text editor of these and also its own tagging system.

Voyager, previously known as Wefwef, is basic and stable. Maybe too basic.

I'm currently using Voyager, but I sometimes still use Connect when I need to quote text from the post I'm replying to while writing. For instance if I need to quote two separate paragraphs or whatever. Can't do that easily in Voyager. Also when I want to embed pictures in a reply, then Connect is ever so slightly easier. Small differences.

If I were to recommend just one for a new user who doesn't care about customization and weird options, I'd have to say Voyager, even if I myself prefer Connect. Voyager is easy to use and it's stable.

Do they have to agree on the answer?

If not, then you can add their experiences. They'll share some but it's a net plus.

If they do have to agree, then they can only answer when they have shared experiences, in which case it'd be a net negative.

It's basically two arrays of binary numbers, either they know something or they don't, and then you can do boolean algebra to get the kind of answer you want.

In reality you will encounter both situations, and by using dialogue, you can sort out the differences and achieve a higher rate of correct answers.

This way, two idiots can indeed answer more correctly than one expert. However it's required that the idiots are aware of their own shortcomings.

The history of denazifying Germany shows that the Allies were torn on this.

To summerize:

Russia "Okay, let's kill all the Germans."
Britain "Oh, but then we're no better than them. We must make due process for all the Nazis."
USA "Yeah, I don't think either of you understand the scale of this."

And the Americans was right. A due process would have taken centuries, and nobody wanted to pay for it.

So that's why the Nuremberg trials only reached the top of the iceberg and millions of Nazis got away with no other punishment than memories of shame.
