People tend to underestimate the need for speaking German in Germany though. Depending on your location and social circle, you might not need much of it day to day. But certain administrative stuff definitely requires a decent understanding (and you really don't want to misunderstand letters from the government).

Then it should be up to them to pull the trigger.

True, but adding a light switch still doesn't prevent their roommate from opening their app and turning on their lights.

This one is actually a big of a tragic coincidence. A lot of genes are first discovered in a certain type of fruit fly (drosophilia melanogaster), which are excellent for this because of the low amount of gene redundancy and high reproduction rate.

There's a series of genes that cause the fruit fly to have little spikes in their body, making them look a bit like hedgehogs. One of those was jokingly called sonic.

The problem is that this gene is present in humans, too, and has since been linked to severe brain deformities. As you can imagine, telling people that their child has a severe brain defect because of the sonic hedgehog gene is kind of problematic (Which is why it's now commonly only called SHH).

There seem to be newer naming conventions that should prevent this kind of issue in the future.

There's an episode of Let's Learn Everything about this fruit fly: Episode 78

Putting people into jail for using a supposed wrong bathroom to wash hands is just ridiculous even without considering anything transgender.

Afaik, TEMU is only a broker between hundreds of exporters and the customer (who is also the importer). Banning the exporter of basically useless, they just reopen under a new name.

Actually we did: She joined the ground defense line for the 4th Jeju raid.

Of you press up/down right after left/right the window will be a quarter of the screen instead of half.

On Windows 11, you can also just drag towards the top, and it'll give you different snapping options.

Typical leftist, won't even show a shred of empathy to the profit margins of the American cock and ball torture device industry!

(/s because I have lost faith in people)

Best we can do is allowing people to call Höcke a "right-wing extremist" without being sued for defamation.

This is all-too often overlooked. Despite everything going on, being from the US citizen is not enough to qualify as an asylum seeker.

Which leaves only worker visas and greencards, which are not easy to get of you lack whatever qualifications your destination country seeks.

Seconding Pocketbook. I'm using the older Touch3HD, which works just wonderfully and comes 100% without any DRM BS.

They do have their own store but I haven't used it yet.

I just learned about image hover text in another thread and noticed that voyager currently doesn't implement showing it.

![alt text](https://lemm.ee/pictrs/image/2984903c-19e2-4f9f-a233-a2b03b9048a2.png "hover text")

alt text

Tapping the image to enlarge it will show the alt text. This is correct if there is no hover text (which is not used all that often). If a hover text is given in the markdown, it should take precedence over the alt text when viewing the image.

Thank you.
