Perchance posted in this thread https://lemmy.world/post/42343571/21834076 that the issue with the cap on the length of prompts is unintentional and expected to be resolved soon along with (hopefully) the prompt weights.

They also mentioned that in that thread the issue with negative prompts being ignored probably won't be fixed as quickly (but they are still working on it) and the “CFG burn” issues and related tendency to push stuff towards cartoon or anime won’t be solved immediately but are also being worked on.

Thank you for the update that the prompt length cut-off issue was an unintended consequence and is being worked on. :)

Glad that the furry (de)gen(erates) could assist with the repro of it.

Would you be so good as to link to the Reddit post you're referring to, as I haven't seen anything on the Reddit, Discord, or here about the maintenance still being ongoing and I'd be interested to see that post.

The biggest issue that I've found with the shorter prompts is where you're trying to describe a number of specific things (for example, if you're trying to describe two or three specific characters, define hair colors with highlights, eye colors, skin colors, body shape/type, where the characters are in relation to each other, what they're doing, where they are in terms of a scene, what the atmosphere/time of day is, some objects in the scene, lighting, and so on in addition to the art style of the image) then you quickly run out of words before you hit the limit where things get hit and dropped off.

Do you have a source you could link to for the ongoing maintenance note please?

The main thing I'm curious about and hoping for an answer regarding is whether this is the expected behaviour following the update and something we should get used to, or should we expect it to return to how it was with longer prompts working?

Quick question regarding the @perchance image generator.

Today when attempting to generate images any details entered after approximately 300 words or 1,900 characters appears to be ignored or dropped by the generator. This was not the case a few days ago.

Is this expected behaviour? I've been told the image generator was updated in the last couple of days.

I believe I am the user that RudBo mentioned and I have sent @perchance@lemmy.world a DM with a prompt that I believe is triggering this as after posting it seems to be removed from all galleries (both public and elsewhere). I'm unsure exactly what part of the prompt is triggering it being removed/not displaying in the galleries after a refresh (and including trying using the prompt in other browsers and submitting from there as well to avoid caching issues etc.)
