In what way is this better than the existing fediverse platforms?
Who is behind this platform?

The article does not treat obstacles to EV adoption as the title might suggest. The content is indicated by the first sentences from the article :

The global shift to electric vehicles might appear unstoppable, but the path there is far from straightforward.
Battery electric vehicles will eventually dominate passenger car fleets across every region, according to global risk management firm DNV, and will capture more than 90% share by 2050 in markets ranging from China and Europe to Southeast Asia.

That might appear to signal a rapid decline in oil demand for road transport, and merit steep downward revisions in gasoline consumption forecasts across several major regions.
However, a closer look at the inventory data for the underlying car fleets suggests the journey away ‌from internal combustion engines (ICE) likely has plenty of twists and turns ahead.

copy from blog (first part) :

FediDB has always been a place you visit. You open the site, look up a server or a piece of software, check a chart, and leave. That works when you know what you’re looking for. It doesn’t help with the things you didn’t know to look for: the new project that showed up on a handful of servers last week, or the release half of Mastodon upgraded to over the weekend.

So we’re bringing FediDB to your timeline. Starting today, five bots post what FediDB sees, and you can follow them from any fediverse app.

Meet the bots#
@stats@stats.fedidb.com posts a chart of the whole network twice a day, at 09:00 and 21:00 UTC: servers, accounts and monthly active accounts over the last 30 days, with how much each changed in the past week.

@software@stats.fedidb.com tells you when FediDB starts seeing new software. Once a project shows up running on a server we can reach, the bot posts what it is, where it’s running and a link to its page. It posts at most three a day, so a busy week won’t flood your timeline.

@versions@stats.fedidb.com picks one project a day and charts which releases its servers run. It works through the 12 most used fediverse projects, so every day is a different one. If the project publishes releases, the post also says how many servers are on the latest one.

@servers@stats.fedidb.com posts when FediDB finds a new server that already has more than 1,000 accounts. Big new servers are usually a sign of something: a community moving, a new regional home, or a project growing fast.

@trends@stats.fedidb.com posts every Monday and Thursday with the software growing fastest, measured in servers compared with about a month ago. Only projects with at least 20 servers count, so one new server can’t make something look like it doubled overnight.

Ugly tower, but hopefully it increases yield as expected (2x)!

I really would like to see it. Where I grew up, near hamburg, we have two already gigantic looking electricity towers: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbekreuzung_1?wprov=sfla1
But they are dwarfs compared to this new wind tower.

I was not aware of the problems that some widely used UV protection substances can bring about. Thank you for making me aware of it by your post!

I found some detailed but customer oriented information in an article by the German consumer test magazine Ökotest: https://www.oekotest.de/kosmetik-wellness/Sonnencreme-Diese-vier-UV-Filter-sollten-Sie-meiden_11405_1.html

Pixelfed API
Read timelines, upload photos, publish posts and build full clients on any Pixelfed server. The API follows the Mastodon client API and adds endpoints for the things only Pixelfed does, like collections, stories and direct messages.

teaser:
The US pressured Lithuanian, Canadian and EU diplomats to withdraw their support for the Disinfo 2026 conference in Vilnius, which criticised Donald Trump and America’s interference in other countries’ politics. The pressure was first felt by the conference's speakers and organisers.

I am European but I have lived in the US for one year, so I have friends over there. I am very dismayed by the US not only not-supporting Ukraine strongly, but now even actively accepting civilians to be murdered by the Russian aggressor. I hope very much that senate or congress will very soon stop the president, who obviously is in support of the Russian dictator.

But I have one questions to the experts here: to what extent will the continued stop of information delivery regarding missile launches from the side of the United States harm Ukraine? To what extent can it be replaced by other means? I once read that France has a powerful satellite observation system too ; is that not able to substitute at least to some extent?

I use _WiZ Vintage Filament E27, 640 lm _ and WiZ Tunable White & Color (GU10, 345 lm).
Reason: They go quite dark (for cozy evening), have a very low color temperature but still the colors look relatively natural (didn't find this with other models).

The app is good.
