what makes you think children aren't capable of giving informed consent? that's ultimately the practice you take issue with. and so do most transphobes and "save the children" people

eugenics was also aimed at all disabled people. we were one of the first people ever targeted by eugenicists and nazis

[–] amino@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 24 minutes ago

congrats you just discovered progressive eugenics

Mustafa Kemal has absolutely nothing to do with any genocide

I'd suggest you open a history book not written by Turkish nationalists for once. I found this NPR episode on his involvement in the Armenian and Kurdish genocides enlightening: https://www.npr.org/2023/10/26/1198908163/the-three-faces-of-ataturk

I personally disagree with giving more rights to immigrants and don't like the idea of negotiations with terrorist organizations to divide the country

if you disagree with immigrants having human rights, that's just fascism my friend.

also you calling Kurds terrorists says a lot about how you're actually just a genocide denier cosplaying as "just an average person without a political position"

maybe they could use a donation model like fediverse instances do

CHP are Kemalists. idk how anyone worshipping that genocider could be called left-leaning (maybe if you're an ethno-nationalist?). I'd say the real left wing in Turkey would be the Kurdish people fighting for autonomy, the feminists and queers fighting the cops in the streets and the union movements.

there are 3 major right-wing instances: lemmy.ml(ran by the Lemmy developers), lemmygrad.ml(the openly fascist version of lemmy.ml) and hexbear.net.

if anyone wants to argue, I don't. Anyone supporting Russia is right-wing. Authoritarianism is inherently conservative, reactionary and therefore right-wing.

wrong, no other cloud provider offers the same military services that Microsoft does

institutions should divest from future and present contracts. most consumers don't have contracts with Microsoft. selling your electronics doesn't hurt them in any way nor is that something that BDS asks for on their website:

as a bazzite user, it's kinda ironic that they're dependent on GitHub cloud to keep their updates going. I wonder if they have a non-apartheid version?

start with the stuff that's easy to get rid of and the rest will snowball down the line.

as for your workplace using Microsoft, nobody expects you as an individual to force your company to stop using them. the best way to achieve that in my opinion is through unions and collective actions.

a question to parents/guardians of kids playing Minecraft or other Microsoft games:

if they uninstall the Microsoft version of Minecraft and switch to a pirated launcher, does that respect the BDS demands? also, does playing it on Linux Mint from the Software Manager benefit Microsoft in any way?

I'm aware of similar media boycotts such as SAG/AFTRA telling people not to promote targeted media projects publicly. Ofc, BDS is a different organization but I'm hoping someone could clarify if not promoting Minecraft while still playing is sufficient? I'm not personally invested in continuing to play, but would like to find ways to inspire my young relative to consume consciously.

ALT: blue tricycle with flatbed panels lowered

Maybe a more philosophical question, but my country classifies this gorgeous bastard as an electric tricycle because its max speed is locked at 25 km/h so it can be driven without any license.

fun fact, a mini version of this without a cabin is getting really popular with old people in rural areas as a way to replace their bikes because it lowers their chances of getting ran over by cars.

I assume it's also being used as a covert disability aid since it looks less like something that would get you discriminated by ableists or by your mates at the pub.

back to the model in the picture, I also predict a big uptake by the people using horse-drawn carts to haul cargo/people. yes, we do have street-legal horse public transport, why do you ask? 🤭

Zhang Yazhou was sitting in the passenger seat of her Tesla Model 3 when she said she heard her father's panicked voice: The brakes don't work! Approaching a red light, her father swerved around two cars before plowing into an SUV and a sedan and crashing into a large concrete barrier.

Stunned, Zhang gazed at the deflating airbag in front of her. She could never have imagined what was to come: Tesla sued her for defamation for complaining publicly about the car's brakes — and won. A Chinese court ordered Zhang to pay more than $23,000 in damages and publicly apologize to the $1.1 trillion company.
