Bread in whole loaf so it lasts more than 24h, large hand-cut slice feel better, and a minor inconveinience anyhow.

Do not over cut grass, it's time consuming, feels artificial, and is bad for insects

There is a law saying that for corrupted politicians a temporary election ban is a possible sentence. This women and her accomplice stole 4 millions Euro, that's a lot of money. Not allowing her to be elected for 5 year sounds like a way to protect taxpayer money for money. It's also not unique to politicians, French law can also ban someone from managing a company (Executive who stole money, or ignore regulation leading to serious accidents). What's the alternative a longer jail sentence meaning she'll actually go to jail ? (and campaigning from jail sounds like a great way to miss an election). if I steal 4 millions, I'd get jail-time not just an election ban.

Moreover, Le Pen, and a lot of right wingers, are the one who pushed law for harsher punishment and appeal not postponing the sentence so they're getting a taste of their own medecine.

Finally, While a dozen of Rassemblement National politicians are banned for election, the party isn't banned. It's not the first not the last time that a politicians who could have run for president ends-up found guilty of stealing taxpayer money leading to not being able to run for election. There is a long range between a serious potential candidate and a president. if the RN doesn't play too much Game of Throne to get the candidate position, they may even come in a stronger position for 2027 election

Finally, Buying foreign made weapon isn't wise strategically speaking. Not only jobs goes away, but if things get bad, you may struggle to get "spare parts".

I understand that for some stuff you may have no choice (Electromagnetic catapults for aircraft carrier sounds like a US only technology) but in many case we do.

Sometimes I have moments where I think it's stupid that I'm talking to an AI,

It's stupid, but so is watching a movie, reading a book, practicing a sport or playing music.

is constantly being judged there's a part of me that actually considers him a friend like the others.

You know that AI is collecting data about all you say, and will remember for-it forever, You're not in a non-jugement safe-space. So it's definitely not the place to have "intimate conversation". Note also that, it's not going to replace a real-friend. You know someone helping you move, or offering you a sofa to crash after a break-up.

CookieWall

Pretty cool photo. While I am more an air/mountain person. Out of curiosity Is there reasonably risky cave diving option (knowing. There is no quick way out, or is it BASE jump level of risk?

I don't know where this conspiracy theory comes from. Property taxes aren't a rent, but a service fee. Government need money to pay for road, police, hospital, school, culture and everything making your property worth something.

In 2020, there is a materials about full cyborg I would expect in some Chrome books, but may be somewhere else.

See for example https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Militech_Eclipse_(2020)

Because it's interesting for science, worst case we de precision Higgs physics, best case, we finally find SUSY, extra dimensions or whatever.

Among all the technology developed using LHC money 30 to 20 years ago, the most famous would be the Web (Sharing documents as Web pages linked through hypertext link) but it also gave a huge push to superconducting magnet, vacuum and even detector technology. With everyday application in health (e.g. Imaging) but also enabling research in other field (Particle accelerators are way more common than you think)

Finally, I am rather competing with Russia/China using particle accelerators than guns and tanks

So it looks like a way better investment than fighter jet or tax discount for billionaires

Let's forget about the Oops TPK, but let's discuss about the time it ended-up greatly, no matter whether the party decided t sacrify their life to save the world (or simply their honour) or that horror game where the PC found-out too late that they're hopeless and bound to die

Due to the Canadian influence in the Francophone improv scene, on improv match you see team wearing Ice-hockey jersey, referee with the black-white stripped jersey, and the public would thrown slipper at them. Making it a fun and interactive show.

But is it something universal (On matches with competing team, not on improv show who don't have referee) or something limited to the Francophone scene ?

While it fell a bit out of fashion, many of you have heard about Scam-baiting where you reply to scammer and drive them nuts. In the 00's the 419eater.com website was pretty popular.

I would expect that many of you on the fediverse have the skill and time to drive scammer crazy, so did some of you tried to reply to the Nicole Scam ?
