Calling an original, analogue recording a master does make sense, as all copies of it will by nature be of a lesser quality. This isn't the case for git branches tho.
Id pick the communities instance because that's the one responsible for federating the post and comments. Id only choose the instances a or c if b is or is planning to shutdown, or if I really wanted to show people what my home instance is
afaik Spotify(or any site) Cannot see if a tab is muted. The method you're referring to is part of the tabs API, which can only be used by extensions that have been given permission to the tabs api
