I felt more anxious after a video call session of um... "therapy" (or whatever)... and now I feel so awkward... (piefed.ca)

Basically the takeaway was:

"Fix your sleep schedule"

"Just go outside more"

"Stop being anxious, other people aren't constantly thinking about you"

Also I get asked like "so what do you do at home?"

um... how should I answer this? "Oh I read online forums that has politically extreme memes?" (I mean that's what half of Lemmy memes are...)

Or am I supposed to explain every youtube video I watched?

Idk how to even answer that...

My parents are paying the copays and I'm on parents insurance... honestly if I had to pay for this, I'd probably just sue them for funsies lmao... maybe if I win a medical malpractice lawsuit, the payout will cure my depression xD (okay probably not medical malpractice, but I felt like I was just wasting time so I really wanna just go sue them for fun lol)

LITERALLY listening to music feels more helpful than "therapy" or whatever... like 5th meet already... it feels equally weird in person and on video call... Like it just keeps getting more awkward each successive meet...

The "therapist" is white guy btw...

Dude was like "so do you feel like you have trouble acclimating to this country?"

And okay I know there's no malicious intentions... but the way that was asked felt like what right winger would ask and then follow up with "so why not go back"....

Okay so maybe its just my paranoia... but that kinda triggered me... so the rest of the session... like 15 minutes of the remaining time I just felt like I had a PTSD event gone through my head...

Would it make sense to have a list of "Retired Questions"? - Questions asked so often and with no real change in answers that they're deleted on sight - if so, what questions would you pick? in c/asklemmy@lemmy.world

Lemmy told me that I'd get kidnapped by ICE the moment a non-white person stepped outside...

I went to a post office in a predominently white neighborhood to apply for a passport (earliest available appointment cuz cities are always filled), the guy working at the post office was a brown guy with an "Indian Accent" (which I did not expect to be working in a white neighbood btw).

I'm ethnically Chinese and did not get harassed by anyone... Lemmy would have you believe there are lynch mobs and white-hooded KKK people trying to shoot you on sight, did not happen...

Also none of my family had been harassed by ICE yet... I heard some relatives and friends of my parent's social circle cross the border just fine... my aunts be going on vacations and cruises... (my parents so jealous of their wealth and keep telling me "why can't you be like them" 😭)

That being said, maybe me being Chinese and not Hispanic/Latino made the risks lower, not trying to invalidate the fears that other more vulnerable communities might face.

Not me but:

Brooo omg my older brother SLEPT in the bathroom of a warehouse for TWO HOURS 🤣

Like dude hid in a stall and just... wait how the fuck can you even sleep in the position?

He never got caught lol

My mom was like: "They're gonna catch you slacking and then drag you out jn front of everyone to humiliate you"

Mom told me that back in China, they micromanage every employee and you could never get away with being "afk" for 2 hours lmfao...

But is a big place in that warehouse so its hard to notice someone gone for 2 hours...

Then they started doing bathroom signout sheets... like wtf... are we still in K-12 school??? (it's a unionized place too not sure whats going on now lol)
