I agree that it couldn’t be a 1-1 adaptation, but I wish the general high level points were the same. It feels a little like they took the characters names and some of the themes and are making something entirely new. I’m not against new things, in fact I wish Hollywood took more risks with new content. But don’t call it something that people know and love and then change it so much.

That the Wheel of Time actually followed the books.

Made these the other day for some biscuits and gravy. Forgot to take a picture but they are incredibly delicious.

Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients: 2 Cup flour 2 teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon granulated sugar ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup butter 1 cup buttermilk

Directions: Preheat oven to 400° fahrenheit. Conbine the flour, baking powder, soda, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter. Add buttermilk until a nice dough forms (may not be all of it). Roll out and cut biscuits. Bake fir 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

I haven't made this in a while so don't have a picture of it handy, but it's one of my favorite recipes for sweet bread. I'd make it almost weekly if the family liked coconut. As it stands it wouldn't be healthy for me as the only one that eats it...

Coconut Bread

Ingredients: Coconut Bread:

4 Eggs 1 Cup Vegetable Oil 2 Cups Sugar 1 Cup Buttermilk 1 teas. Coconut Extract 3 Cups Flour 1/2 teas. Baking Soda 1/2 teas. Baking Powder 1/2 teas. Salt 1 Cup Coconut

Syrup:

1 Cup Sugar 2 Tablespoons Butter 1/2 Cup Water

Directions: Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease 2 bread pans with butter. Mix all the dry ingredients except for the coconut together and whisk. Mix all the wet ingredients together. Add the dry to the wet and mix until it just starts to come together. Add coconut. Bake at 325°F for 1 hour. About 10 minutes before the bread is done start mixing together the syrup. Add all the ingredients to a small sauce pan and stir constantly till boiling. Turn down heat, but keep it at a boil. Boil for 5 minutes. After removing the bread from the oven take a knife and run it along the edges of the bread. Pour syrup over the top of each loaf when you remove from oven and allow to cool in pans (or don’t, your choice).
