Man I feel you and I know it's just how things are. But I often ask myself the following question: Why are lots of office workers so bad with computers? It's the tool they use for 1/3 of working day in their life. Just like a craftsman should learn to use their tools. No, instead they always act like it's something only tech guys should know about.

Kurzer Rant weil ich mal wieder auf Reddit unterwegs war und selbst da muss wohl inzwischen in vielen Subs Selbstzensur betrieben werden. Wörter wie "Deadly" müssen entweder mit Sternchen unkenntlich gemacht werden (ein User hat "Double plus unlifely" vorgeschlagen lel).

Ich wusste dass das auf Facebook, Instagram und TikTok ein Ding ist, noch ein Grund für mich, das nicht zu benutzen aber auch auf Reddit? Das Mainstream Internet ist einfach verloren sage ich.

Everybody hating on Java being the de facto language every student learns first (at least back when I was in university) but I think it's actually a great first language while I don't think python is for one simple reason: it has types but tries to hide them from you. It is soooo important to understand types early though.

True. To me, Lemmy feels somewhat more like the old vBulletin forums I used to browse 15 years ago.

Not from the US and I don't understand why one would support a candidate just because he survived an assassination attempt. Can somebody explain the logic behind this?
