Thanks, I hadn’t heard about this release. I am here for anything Bruce Campbell.

Related but unrelated, this reminded me of an old 80s movie, They Call Me Bruce.

The ending and its dated late 60s Hollywood style makes me think it’s a tribute to the ending of The Graduate.

It doesn’t matter to them that they don’t know where they’re going or what they’ll do, just as long as they’re together.

A three-ply layered joke. Well done!

I always envisioned it was a speck of dust on the floor somewhere.

I love a good minimalism joke.

Reminds me of this short story from the early days of the internet.

Or maybe “blog post”, before we even called them that.

I’m coming back to add another request idea:

Ability to search Saved posts.

I save a lot of useful things on Lemmy but it’s difficult to find again later. You can’t search Saved Posts in this app nor on the website and you can’t set up an RSS feed like on Reddit to get the articles/posts out to somewhere else.

Even if you know the precise title of the post, general search on Lemmy almost never brings it up in the results.

I think Voyager could certainly help compensate for this shortcoming in Lemmy.

Bandcamp.com

You can listen to the tracks, ad-free, get recommendations below the album listing (maybe other ways too), buy DRM-free and support the artists better than any streaming service would be willing to.

If you do go local library and are looking for recommendation algorithm, Apple Music (the app, not the streaming service) sells DRM-free as well and has the Genius function that will group songs based on similar preferences. However, I don’t believe it will pull in recommendations outside your own library. Worth checking.

Right you are, thanks!!

One of favourite apps!

Two requests:

  1. Ability to open shared Lemmy URLs in Voyager, via share sheet to the app, iMessage extension maybe too, and clipboard recognition once in the app although this might have privacy issues I suppose. My family sends a lot of Lemmy links via iMessage and it’s annoying having to load the page, tap the image, close the tab after and return to iMessage to comment. I remember Apollo having something better with this.
  2. Block community on a post from an All, Local or Home feed. Right now you have to tap into the sub/community and then tap ellipses to get the block function.

Another thing is better search but I believe Voyager might be doing the best that it can right now compensating for the terrible search in Lemmy. And that terrible search might also be a byproduct of the federated instances (sync time, different restrictions, etc) which I guess is an acceptable trade-off for now if so.

Always assumed it was grape juice, specifically Welch’s which was a popular item in the 80s/90s.

With their “air conditioner fund” tip jar

A.P. Bio? I think I’ve finally gotta check this show out. Maybe on a Friday. Maybe alone on a couch.

Is there a way to know which app triggered the shortcut call?

For instance, if I share files from the Files app, I could reference something to see “Files” or “iCloud Drive”. When it’s Mail, I’d see “Mail”. Etc.

I am trying to have one universal shortcut for file input but I need to specialize some actions depending on the app that provided the files.

I checked “Shortcut Input” but there aren’t a lot of choices to evaluate. “File Path” is inconsistent in what it will show: executing from the Shortcuts app and picking a file will shows “iCloudDrive/FolderName/Filename.ext” but sharing from the Files app will just show the filename.ext. Sharing from Mail shows the file content.

I found this nifty shortcut to backup all shortcuts. You can set it to an automation and do a rolling limited number of backups on a set schedule, like 10 zip files max, backed up weekly.

There’s a problem though. There’s an error on the Make Archive step.

I stripped the shortcut down to Get All Shortcuts, Make .zip of My Shortcuts. The error persists.

I’m not sure why it’s not working unless this is an existing Shortcuts bug at the moment.

Anyone know?

Anyone know how to tag an Apple Note with multiple tags?

I can create the note, append to it, and tag it with a variable or straight text but I cannot figure how to add multiple tags.

I tried a list, dictionary values, comma separated, new lines. I even tried looping over Add Tag action with a single tag but everything results in an error on trying to tag multiple times to the note.

Let me know if you’ve figured it out!
