I have no expertise, but I'm guessing that the world will adjust faster than expected and just start trading more with each-other and leave the US to rot on it's own.

Best I ever managed was two.

Are they required to bake cake?

It's not the job of politicians (or at least it shouldn't be) to prosecute criminals. However, if you count Merrick Garland as a "Democrat", he should have moved on Trump immediately after he left power. Instead, he sat on it. That was the first delay, and Judge Canon was the last. Blaming the last delay is obvious, but not the real story.

I've never looked at them as serious vehicles because of the whole "everything is computer" thing. Touch controls for absolutely everything is insane.

Who are these people, like really !?

They are a bunch of different factions, some cooperating and some competing, and a some doing a little of both. There are the white nationalists behind Vance, Mike Johnson, and others, there are the silicon valley tech bros behind Musk and Doge, and there is the ever present influence of Wall Street. I think that much is certain. I am guessing that there is a bit of a rebellion going on between the Silicon Valley factions and the Wall Street factions.

The "genius" of musk, if it exists at all, was that he has been successful as a bridge between the two, convincing Wall Street billionaires to back his Silicon Valley corporations. That is the value he brought to Tesla, and why he could convince them to call him a founder. I think Silicon Valley is tired of their dependence on Wall Street and they are happy to trash the country to improve their leverage.

Then there is the Peter Thiel and his technology cult that want's to end governments entirely and replace them with a handful of corporations running everything. This is the worst faction of all, and Elon's biggest backers. They literally don't care if they have to burn human civilization to the ground, just as long as they can rebuild it to their specifications.

This tornado of dystopias hit an America who's institutions were already rotting from within, thanks to neoliberals in both the Democratic and Republican parties. Everyone knew that corruption was growing everywhere, but we were in collective denial about the ultimate consequences. Democrats tried to fix some of the problems around the edges, but would never risk confronting the corruption at it's roots. Republicans just tried to cash in and let Democrats worry about keeping the facade from collapsing. It worked for a surprisingly long time, but the current tidal wave is probably too much. I try to be hopeful, and there is a sliver of a chance for mass organization and education to turn back the tide, but that's not where I would put my money, if I thought my money would be worth anything.

Useless almost-pickup-trucks and union busting?

Trump wants to golf and collect money, blonde bimbos, and complements. Everything else his administration does comes from the people surrounding Trump. Trump doesn't understand what they are doing and he doesn't care. He parrots the words he is given then heads back to the golf course.

There will be no "made up reason" because there will be no trials.

Elon focusing on them as a car company is where that horrific travesty of a truck and the stupid robot came from, not to mention the false promises of FSD. I think Tesla is better of without Elon's focus.

The scars from this presidency will rival the scars of the civil war in duration.

Nope. We're still here.
