"Look guys, I said the opposite of the content in the replies." 🤓☝️

Sadly, I do not trust third party apps with my main account. There is so much to loose.

It really is! I was off for about three months, and I decided to go back to it just to be up-to-date with some friends and creators, right? Well, I was doom-scrolling for hours in about just a week of usage. Whenever that happens, I uninstall the app causing it, so I just deleted it again. The craziest part? After a couple of hours, I could feel the craving to open the app. Crazy shit.

Localsend is built with Dart/Flutter.

That is actually a fair point, but I assume out of the millions of lines of code, not all of them come from Google, right?

That would requiere convincing the copyright holders of those lines, or at least rewrite them. The latter I don't see it impossible, but it would take time.

Still, I will always rather a strong copyleft license...

This is not good, this is why I don't like permissive licenses.

This is the reason why I'm not a fan of permissive licenses.

Your IP gets exposed to others since it has a p2p feature to share the bandwidth of the video with others.

That's similar to want #Mbin does.

It's a great opportunity for #pixelfed to add #group support, so those sharing their videos can share it directly to a community/magazine reaching to a wider audience. Same for #loops. Obviously, not at the moment, where everyone is trying to keep things up and running. @dansup@mastodon.social

I hate the fact that those posts are not an Article in the #activitypub object. I wouldn't be surprised if most of them do that because of Mastodon utterly inability to render other #activitypub objects other than a Note.

Which part does not make any sense for you?

I would like an option to basically see all the content I'm following from one timeline, since a microblog is being categorized to the random magazine I don't see why this cannot be possible?

What is the sentiment around this?

This might sound wild or controversial, but has anyone thought about using the bluesky app and adapt it to work with the mastodon API? By this way making it easier for more people?

Wouldn't that be better? Let me see if I can explain what I mean. Here on the fediverse each server is kind of restricted to what the user can post.

@Mastodon@mastodon.social is for notes

@pixelfed@pixelfed.social for photos (wouldn't be surprised if it used a note too)

Lemmy only for article objects.

Peertube for videos.

You get the idea.

This way of developing the #fediverse where each server only receive one kind of the objects accepted by #ActivityPub makes it more fragmented it, right? A server should send and receive all kinds of objects and should be up to the client to how to processes those objects.

If an user wants an Instagram-like app just create an account on any service and use and app with that UI, of lager they wanted to see more kinds of objects they should just use another client that supports Note, Article, etc. with the same account on the same server.

Ideally all server should have a shared API.

This fixes #fragmentation, the need to have multiple accounts if you are into multiple kinds of objects/content.

A couple of months ago I saw a comic by @MrLovenstein@mastodon.social but I can't find it.

It was about for what I can recall the parents of the character were congratulating him for an achievement, and the character says something along the lines: "They now won't know that I'm actually a failure" or "That I don't know what I'm actually doing".

By the way, I couldn't find a better community to ask this.

I'm trying to learn more about the protocol, and after years of being around in the fediverse there's obviously areas where the protocol could improve. I was reading some of the fep documents and there are really good proposals. How long for these to be part of the protocol? Last update was 2018.
