Well everyone wants something so you should always be able to make something that is best for everyone

Interestingly enough what you just described is a democracy, the socalled system that gives people power. Anarchist societies would be by consensus

[–] Smookey4444@anarchist.nexus 1 points 5 days ago (5 children)

Not necessarily as a community would have power split equally among all.

[–] Smookey4444@anarchist.nexus 2 points 5 days ago

Yes this is the basic problem. Those in power will always serve themselves. It doesn't matter what they did or who they were before they were given power, the moment they get power:, they'll do whatever they can to keep it

You could start by trying to resolve any conflict that would lead to that in the first place. But if you mean do it just because you feel like it then the community could require you to make reparations or something like that. If that still didn't work you could be kicked out of the community

Instead of saying I'm an anarchist I talk about things from an anarchist perspective without mentioning the word "anarchy". I usually will defend communism because I consider myself communist, but if you mean socalled "communist" states, I'll usually point out that none of them were actually communist

Power structures can absolutely be eliminated. By taking away the ability for anyone to carry out the threat of violence, and removing harmful institutions like the state and capitalism

USSR was still a state, so of course it didn't work. You need to eliminate power structures

So very true. This is why government can not exist

This is pretty good tbh, I find it interesting that the article seems to be against it

It is CBS news though so not like anyone should actually watch them anyways

You could look up the anarchist front in iran and Afghanistan. That's not Iraq obviously but might interest you

I know that anarchism, specifically anarcho-communism and marxism are very different. People always talk about their main difference being that they have a different means of achieving their goals but the same end goal , but that's definitely not true. So what are some of the ways they are different?

Basically the title. I'd like to meet some more anarchists around where I love and hopefully become more active with them and potentially organize. Just not sure how to start that so would helpful for some ideas!
