What concerns raised about the law's "incompatibility with Judeo-Christian values" are worth listening to?
Also, the last sentence is an especially stinky take: people are allowed to impose discipline on themselves without demanding others follow the same (like gyms and diets).
Isn't shod past tense? I'd write it "...can get them re-shod..."
