I'm curious, on a legit/fanservice spectrum, where would you place Kill La Kill? It shows tons of skin, but it's a legit part of the story. Of course it's a dumb premise, but they lean into it anyway, and it does drive the plot in several instances.

As an aside, I enjoyed it a lot because I absolutely love Studio Trigger and their art style, but I've stopped recommending it to anyone because the conversation always goes in one direction. I'm not surprised, of course, but I wish people had the ability to resist fixating on that one element and appreciate the cinematography, character development, music, voice acting (including Nobuyuki Hiyama!), and all the other things that make it great...

And the usage of "you people" feels intentionally pointed. Insulting to everyone's intelligence/sense of empathy.

Then they go on to claim that they'll make sure mass shootings won't be tolerated in this country. Well where the fuck has this person been for the past few decades?

Technically it was never released, but I was invited to a closed alpha (or beta?) for a game called Chroma, by Harmonix, the OG Guitar Hero people. It was a lot of fun and I'm still sad that it was canceled...

No love for Bawls? When I was younger the best LAN parties had Bawls. I think they still make it; no idea if it tastes the same.

Iirc it was the image to an Onion article. I don't know the image's provenance but it likely came from there.

I think it's more like he fell near his sword such that it went harmlessly in between his arm and side, played dead for a few seconds, then checked through one half-open eye to see if anyone bought it.

I mean I know most of this admin are complete buffoons, but for some reason I can't give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe because it took this long to own up to it, and other people in the group chat denied multiple times that it even happened.

Oh definitely, it's just that when I searched the communities, the only result was on .world

This is all I could think of after reading the first part

I'd love to see an active expanddong community here. Looks like .world has one but it's super dead :(

That's exactly how I articulated my thoughts to a friend the other day. Authenticity is paramount to my jaded brain. Besides, I've already seen the best TV series of all time in Breaking Bad, so why watch any more studio productions after that?

Old MST3K episodes don't count 🙃

You're right, the tracks are pretty short. But since the game is from my childhood it just has that special something in my heart, you know? And I also agree that the controls could have been better. If you make it to the part where he jumps into the robot dinosaur (my PFP, I forgot to add), there's a nice variety of weapon pickups to keep the combat at least a tiny bit interesting.

Either way, I'm glad you gave it a shot!

Let's assume we're not stopped at a traffic signal.

This is only anecdotal, but I heard once that you're not supposed to stop altogether, rather drive at a slower pace so as to let it pass quickly. The person said what was more important is that drivers don't make sudden changes to their behavior. An EMT driver can more safely maneuver if they don't have to predict what any one knucklehead will do the moment they get close.

If this is wrong or needs clarification, please enlighten me!
