BSD's kernel ABI is not stable. Stability is only attempted in a best-effort basis for a single major version. Like how FreeBSD only tries to ensure kernel ABI stability in Release 14.0 and its updates but upgrading to Release 15 is considered an ABI break.
Still, it's much better than Linux breaking ABI in every release.
Sharing an anecdote: I lost a 1U server because Linux didn't spin up the fans while the CPU was under 100% load on all cores.
This never happened in Windows.
I can think of a few reasons on why not BSDs right now:
Unfortunately, the BSDs really are not usable for me right now. Windows definitely works best for everything most of the time, but at this point Linux is my lowest baseline for what makes a usable OS.
These types are a lot more common than you may think they are.

Not surprised. The bank app I use overrides even the default GBoard on Android and enforces the use of its own keyboard.

Haiku's biggest problem is its inability to run most modern web browsers and software. I think the Haiku people recently managed to port Firefox to Haiku but it still doesn't handle the modern web properly.
And of course, forget about using any kind of productivity software on it if coexistence with MS Office or Adobe is required.
You know the Loonixtards are just trying to make themselves sound more sophisticated and competent than they really are when they call bash commands and scripts "code".

If anything, Loonix eats even more ram than Windows or Mac because it completely lacks the proprietary software Windows and Mac users rely on for work every day. SO they end up using web apps and PWAs, like the online version version of MS Office and Adobe tools
Which, as we all know, really only work best under Chrome and Chromium-type browsers.
Simply having one web email client PWA and one browser with a few tabs open will cause any computer with 8GB ram to start swapping.
But of course the Loonixers will never admit to that.
There's also a third reason on why not BSD:
Practically all OSS projects assume you are building on Linux. Most complex programmes like LibreOffice, Chromium, Firefox, ffmpeg etc absolutely will not build on the BSDs if you are following the build instructions provided by the projects as-is..
In some instances the failure is caused by something simple like using BSD make instead of GNU make. But unfortunately for the other 99% of the time it's something very complicated that requires significant patches to the project itself because of assumptions that the project is built against glibc instead of the BSD's libc, or using gcc instead of llvm and clang, etc.
